The VERY BEST Songs Of Tina Turner

2023 has been brutal so far. Another one of my favorite artists passed away last week: Born as Anna Mae Bullock in Nashville, Tennessee she first became famous alongside her soon to be husband Ike as 'Ike & Tina Turner'. Together they had multiple hits in the 60s and 70s before a very bad breakup after Ike abused Tina physically. After her divorce Tina started a very successful solo career in the 80s with the single "What's Love Got To Do With It" becoming her first and only #1 song in the USA.

Tina released solo albums in the 70s, 80s and 90s and has sold up to 200 million records worldwide. She won the Grammy Award 12-times, for works with Ike as well as solo. Three of her recordings are in the Grammy Hall of Fame. She is the first black and the first female artist to appear on the cover of the Rolling Stones magazin in 1969. She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the St. Louis Walk of Fame. She was inducted into the Rock'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 as part of 'Ike & Tina Turner' and as a solo artist in 2021. In 2005 she received the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors.

Tina Turner passed away at the age of 83 in Switzerland, where she lived after retiring. She is one of the all-time-greatest singers and a legend in every way. Thank you for this list. Glad to see “What You Get Is What You See” almost at the top. t’s a great song and heavily underrated. I do think that Steamy Windows and Foreign affair should be much higher, though! And “Break Every Rule” (song) and “Love Thing” should definitely be in the chart! Anyways, that’s just personal preference. She has too many memorable songs! 🎶 🎶
