In this video you'll find my favorite songs of 1978. For yours truly the serious part about life had started while in music especially dance movies and the songs from those films became massively popular. Then there was more disco and at #1 you'll find a song from a country that doesn't even exist anymore. Hope you enjoy!

Disclaimer: Some songs might be released in 1977 at the end of the year so I took the creative freedom to put them there as it would be more in line with how charts were at that time. Remember: Even if a song was released then it might have taken some time to chart and especially if it was a song from overseas.

Guten Morgen, mein Mann und ich leben in England. Wir haben heute beide frei und leben in den Tag hinein- das Wetter ist nicht so doll. Da haben wir deinen Kanal entdeckt und gucken die ganzen "very best of....". Videos. Das macht so viel Spaß- wir singen laut mit. Es freut mich, dass auch ein paar deutsche Lieder dabei sind. So viele Erinnerungen. Wir sind beide in den 70 ern und 80 ern aufgewachsen. Mein Mann hier und ich in Deutschland, es gab kein internet, youtube etc. aber wir haben die gleichen wunderbaren Erinnerungen an all die tolle Musik damals . I came home and landed in the Bay Area, was a beer vendor for pro sports, baseball, football, basketball. It was amazing. Sold ice cream in stadiums full of rockers at so many concerts. Does anyone remember S.N.A.C.K. Sunday? (S)students (N)eed (A)athletics (C)culture and (K)icks. Held in San Francisco? How about concerts on the green in Oakland. I accidently had my first, and only, ACID (LSD) overdose. Spiked Orange Juice. I was OK 3 days later. Crazy times. 2-3 hundred dollars in beer sales at ball games. 3-5 games a week. Oh hell yeah.

I graduated in 1978 and loved some of the songs then but it sure wasn't the best year in the seventies for music. That belongs to 1976. I just remember the raidio constantly playing Baker Street and Sultans of swing in 1978

Nice touch that you put on nr1 a song of the sorry people of the DDR. I'm surprised they ever managed to make anything, and I don't just mean music. If that song had been made by anyone else, it would never be worth being in this list of course.
