He’s trying to say if ur not disciplined enough to eat 1200 consistently everyday then eat 1700 instead as you’re more likely to stick to that.

I’m a 5’2 female and 1200 calories is a weight loss of 2 pounds weekly; it’s not hard for me at all and I never feel like I’m starving.

I did 1700, and I didn't lose anything. I think it depends on the person. I'm on 1200, and I'm losing weight.

This is so true I simply don’t deprive myself of foods (sweets) I like throughout the week. I just keep it in moderation n within my CD n I’ve still been managing to lose weight for over 2 months now.. started in march last month at 345 lbs n now down to 312 lbs as of yesterday 04/26/25 😱… but I work out like 5x a week doing a split routine n getting my steps in nightly at work (warehouse) job which literally averages to about 14k-16k.. so yeah the results are amazing thus far.

You should start by finding your correct calorie maintenance/deficit based on your goals. My maintenance is like 2, 500. If I'm working out 5×/week, it's at least 2, 750.
If I go under, I gain weight and feel like crap. Also, calories aren't all the same. Balance your macros before couting your calories.

Im a guy, and I've done anywhere from 900-1200 calories every day for almost 3 weeks, no problem. It boils down to self discipline and your desire for weight-loss.

Cycle your calories. I eat 1200 calories a day five days a week and then two days a week I eat 3000. That puts my weekly average at 1714 a day. This allows me to cut aggressively, without metabolic adaptation because those two days at 3000 cal feeds my glycogen and keeps my body guessing. I’ve been using this method for years whenever I’m in a cutting faze. As long as you don’t go too long and you give yourself a good refeed that lasts at least 48 hours you’ll be fine.

I eat 2400 calories a day walk 10, 000 steps a day and lose 60lbs in 10 months. I never feel hungry. My start weight was 340lbs and now at 280lbs. All i did was Google how many calories i need to lose weight. The number seems high but the bigger u are the more u can eat and still lose weight.

Theres a difference between eating more food and eating more calories. For example a mandarin is around 40 calories and a single oreo cookie is 53 calories. 1 cookie isnt going to fill you up so you eat more and more which ends up fuller but more calorie intake. Mandarins have a lot of pieces and low on calories.

This is true if your still new to weight loss. Weight loss and dieting is a skill to develop. A 1200/ 7 days a week cut for two months is perfectly possible for experienced dieters. Unskilled dieters should stick to 1500. 1700 calories is too small a deficit for most peoples timetable. The best cut diet is very high volume and protein meals with low calories. Examples would be chicken salad with fat free salad dressing. I cut from 235 to 195 in only a couple months while actually gaining muscle mass by just eating chicken salads with a protein shake. However that diet is hard for unexperienced dieters. Your body judges its calories on volume, if you eat high volume food you can feel stuffed but actually only have consumed 500 calories depending on the meal. I dont have any degrees but my credibility is that I went from 235 pounds with a 90 pound bench pr to 195 with a 225 bench pr over 8 months, with the weight loss taking place over the course of 3 months.

I do 1300 one day 1600 next then repeat with each day totaling roughly 140-170 grams of protein and very low carbs about 30-60 grams carbs while fasting 12-16 hours a day is the quickest way too do a weight cut

I'm 6'5 and I'm making extreme cut from 18% to 10%bf. I'm not hungry at all. You can eat 1600 on working days and 1000-1200 on rest days. Eat protein and it will be alright.

This is 100% correct. That’s why I love this guy. I went to a nutritionist put me on a 1200 calorie diet. Failed by the 3rd day. 😂

im 5 foot exactly currently 174 lbs (gained a lot of weight after two consecutive pregnancies) my calorie deficit is 1200 but i find myself eating around 900 average. im not starving nor do i get hungry between meals... i guess it has a lot to do with how much your used to eating

Honestly wondering if this is true, I did lose a lot of weight when I was 200 pounds and eating 1500 cals every day. I dropped it to 1300 cals when my weight got down to the 170's even with exercise and I have halted weight loss since. I'm trying to eat more and include lots of nutrition and protein to see if it helps.

When I’m consistently eating 1200 my appetite decreases to accommodate, it seems like every weight loss video assumes people will just go crazy because they’re so hungry.

Your weight, age and activity level are a factor as well as to how many calories u need weekly.
