I will say this, I used to live in a walkable country and walk 1 hour with my mom everyday plus normal city life. I moved to the US to a city with no sidewalks and very car oriented and due lack of movement I developed insulin resistance ( I have PCOS so the risk was there but I'm underweight so didn't think much of it) so please people never stop walking if you can! I have fibromyalgia too and now a small thread mill to keep me moving ❤

No, but for real, it's great to see such studies. I may not get steps in daily, but when i do, i walk a lot. My most common route is 7km/4, 3miles, half of that uphill, to visit my mother a few villages over. Ain't taking the bus when i get to see beautiful nature, excercise, fresh air and can pick wildflower bouquets. Sure, it tales longer, but it is so worth it ❤

Yes, very good advice and I try and exercise 30 minutes or more a day though my doctor (he’s retired now and the doctor that took over for him recently left the practice so I’m in between now. Waiting to see another doctor, it’s crazy) told me once that walking wasn’t enough. You have to jog or run. Moving fast. But I didn’t believe him. Thank goodness. 👍🏻

Used to walk from Brooklyn to Queens and back - then I fractured the femoral bone 😢 trying hard to get back in the rhythm 😊

Ok, for me I think 11, 500 steps per day would be an hour and a half? I do get outdoors daily now that I'm retired, and it's not all that hard to do. I enjoy walking.
