I am on the same journey. Just quit my finance job to finally make time to share my knowledge on Youtube ❤ just started but I already feel happy for taking this step.

If you focus on your gift, your gift will make room for you. God place inside of you a seed that you need to plant, take care and in due time the harvest will come.

You're completely right, having a "real" job is useful (even if it's less fun). There are many streamers and content creators whose only job was working in retail or something before they started a YouTube channel, so they are missing the kind of perspective a corporate job gives you.

I watched your video on this beautiful morning here while having breakfast and coffee. I like the narration and the settle background music. It’s incredible that you made it to YPP after 7 months of your journey on Youtube. Thanks for the info 👏

This is so comforting! I started YouTube few months back and I am at some 994 subs at the moment. I had decided that the day I hit 1000 subs, I'll quit my 9-5 job which is quite stressful to be honest. Creating slow and cozy videos has been a long due dream..and I am really excited to pursue it full time. Yes, I might not be earning for a while, but this work is so rewarding that I am okay to live on my savings for a while. Thank you for such an uplifting video, Mako! It's really giving me the confidence I need today as I'd mostly be putting my papers tomorrow, fingers crossed! Much love to you♥

Wow I saw your original videos a few months ago and glad to see that things are working out for you! I guess I should stop worrying and make my dreams happen too

My goal is to go full-time :)
Been at it 4 years, and still want it as much as I wanted when I started.

Thank you for sharing your journey! It is so exciting to see the opportunities and freedom that can come from content creation, as well as the realities of being your own boss.

I really enjoyed and learnt a lot from this video. It always amazes me when people say I can't live or leave a full time job for $1600 on youtube and I'm always sat thinking WHY?! $1600 would cover all my bills, food expenses and mortgage and still leave some left to have 2 meals out that month and possibly a short weekend holiday. Then when you mentioned the "freedom" number I realised my number must be far lower than others. Which actually motivated me a LOT to keep pushing. I love the idea of the freedom number and going to work out mine as I think that's a far better goal to aim towards. Thank you for this video, its exactly what people need to hear.

Congratulations on brand partnership with Skillshare. Content creation is my ultimate goal 🥅 but definitely using YT as a door to many other opportunities. Thanks Mako

Content creation is so rewarding! the 'figuring out' process, hitting the upload button and especially the control we have around our own time that traditional jobs don't offer. But it does get lonely, and sometimes I feel lost since content creation is not a 'traditional' path. But every path has its own challenges, and ups and downs. I love keeping up with your content creation journey and I resonate with the feelings you are expressing. It makes me feel a little less alone out here

Thank you as always for such a lovely video Mako. When you mentioned the YouTuber making 8-10k dollars a month and thinking that is unstable, I gasped.
Cuz in my head I thought “I’ll just tell myself that YouTube pays me 6k a month and any extra on that is going into some savings for when I don’t make that much”, and that was basically what you said too!!! 😂😂. Being a small business owner is about being realistic and pessimistic and celebrating your small wins, whilst planning for the uncertainties of not earning a daily, weekly or monthly salary. I wish more people realized that!

Thank you once again for your video Mako. Looking forward to your next one ❤

I recommend you to teach Japanese (a lof of people want to visit or live in Japan) for example, 5 common useful words or phrases in a short video, the brain gets stimulated when it learns a very small piece of information at a time(of course only if you want to)
Thanks.
