In this episode, we respond to a video by Dr. Jordan Cooper titled, "Is Regeneration Always Tied to Baptism?"

Note: To clarify, we may have said that Lutherans are unique in their view of baptismal regeneration.  If we did, that is not correct as Roman Catholics in response to the Augsburg affirmed it.

Could not you just simply argue that if you're regenerated at baptism, then agreement to be baptized is following Christ (at least hopefully), and given total depravity, you cannot follow Christ unless you're first regenerated, so therefore baptismal regeneration must be false unless Lutherans are okay with baptizing people they believe not to be genuinely repentant and trying to obey Christ?

FYI, the phrase "blessed inconsistency" is from Lutheran theologian Francis Pieper. I've often used that phrase to refer to Calvinists on limited atonement. If Flowers uses it, he got it from me.

You should be a little careful with embracing knowledgeable Lutherans like Cooper as "brothers in the faith". He knows the doctrines of grace and yet he is tinkering with them to suit his man-centered theology. This is not a good sign as to the life of God in his heart of hearts. He is no blundering novice, but has embraced his views because the absolute and completely effective power of God to save irks him.
