Why your auto insurance rates are rising | FOX43 Finds Out

Bob Bucks of Bainbridge has been driving his dodge truck for a few years. He's had no accidents or claims, but his auto insurance policy went up again this year by about $80.

He said, "That's a couple of tanks of gas, that's groceries."

What really shocked him was his motorcycle coverage from AllState, especially since he went from 3 bikes to two.

Bucks said, "I knew it went up, then I went back and looked a little further and thought holy cow! I dropped a bike and it went up $100."

Blame inflation.

My policy went from $443 in April 2022 to $659 in Oct 2023 and you should be rewarded for being a good driver, not penalized for the shitty drivers

Insurance company’s are charging you as your going to get into an accident but if you don’t get into an accident there’s no discount. It’s a bracket!!!

We must all decide we're not paying insurance. Imo it's a scam against the sensible honest folk.

This is crazy we need the white house to put their foot down on the insurance companies. This is getting out of hand

I switched last June to a supposedly low base rate (no matter whether I drive or not) for six months at $389 plus 8 cents per mile. That policy increased 25% the next six months, to $485 base plus 11.4 cents a mile. This coming June the increase is 31% (to $636 base, 15 cents a mile). That’s a 63 percent increase in one year. I have never had a claim, any violations or tickets in the sixteen years I’ve had the car. I’m getting rid of the car. And I’m leaving the United States. Enough is enough.!

It’s all scam…. Looking for any reason to pocket more money from policy holders.

Insurance companies will use any kid of minuscule “data” as an excuse to raise your rates. Such as “labor”. Yet they won’t use the opposing minuscule data to lower it. To make matters worse, they want you to pay early just to save $10. Oh boy the savings 🙄

Just like everything else in this country, law enforced services are all becoming a leach on our lives.

That's why allstate is not a good insurance company

Forgetting something very important factor in determining rates from insurance companies... The rising cost of "Liability" coverage, not just for auto, but home and umbrella policies. Brought to you by: Larry H Parker, The Dominguez Firm, The Barnes Firm, Jacoby & Myers, Sweet James, and about a hundred other ambulance chasing lawyers. "We will fight the insurance companies for you and get you millions of dollars!" Thanks for being a huge part of the problem!

The real question should be, why does New Hampshire and Virginia not require their drivers to carry insurance? Is there a double standard here? Is there something more dangerous about our roads and drivers than theirs? Or is this simply a tool being used to exploit money from states

Jack up the rates for the crappy drivers, leave us good drivers alone. I have a 10 year old car, immaculately kept, no tickets, no accidents, insurance has gone up twice a year for the last 2. 50 to 100 per 6 month each time. Pretty soon folks gonna have to choose betwnne food and insurance. Guess where the $ will go

They need to make auto insurance run by the government
