Yep, my car insurance rose by $80 a month. I’m now paying $244 a month on a 2014 Honda accord. WTF!? I’m over 30 years old and nothing has changed with my driving or driving record since last year. My insurance is basically a car payment at this point.

I asked my insurance provider quite a few years ago why my rate was suddenly so high. I did it in person and the agent squirmed in their seat for a few moments until they came back with: Tesla. The first model Teslas on the road were jacking up mine and everyone else's insurance rates. I've since maintained that no insurance provider should cover more than the first $20K of a car's value. That would force all manufacturers to produce vehicles valued at under $20K and everyone's insurance premiums would stay fairly low.

Just got off the phone with my insurance company. Our rates just went up. We are in our 60s. Drive little and have a perfect driving record. We almost crapped. We actually heard the rates are going up to pay for all the poor drivers in our area that have so many instead of their rates going through the roof and everyone in THEIR class and hence with keeping them off the road, WE have to pay for them? Yup, that's the new woke.

So his auto insurance is more than my homeowners for a home on a barrier island in FL with a rebuild cost over $500k???? My FL auto insurance also went up substantially this time and I’m a safe driver, mid fifties, 2015 Murano with every possible discount. The way people drive here though I don’t blame the insurance companies - I’ve lived in quite a few different places and never seen anything like how people drive here.

if you have a brand new car and paying a car payment you can’t complain. thats the life style you chose. you could have a 1998 toyota corolla but you decided thats not good enough. so now you have to pay the price. if you dont like it turn off your station.

This has been in the making for years insurance companies tested rate hikes in states like Georgia now they are doing it nationwide! Nobody has an answer news is telling how to conform to the system.
