It's actually a good thing to see in newer tanks, bacterial growth is good most of the time

Patience is a must in this hobby.
Let nature take its course.

I would also cut out any plant ferts with nitrate or phosphate

My tank is around 4 months old and has had an algae bloom since about day 3. I've waited, tested, tried all the tricks from your other videos, and the water is still so green that I can only see my fish if they are against the glass. My water tests perfect and the fish are thriving. I'd love to see them. I'm very close to taking them out, dumping everything, scrubbing it clean, and starting over.

I had that problem when i upgrade to a bigger tank for my fish. Discovered you and your channel...learned alot! Havent had any problem since. I do remember you saying youve got to be patient with bacterial blooms. What would we do without you Kev??? 😊❤❤

My advice: use some Acurel-F and it will clear up that cloudiness a lot faster.

I use Acurel F immediately after my weekly water change just to give the 2 seachem tidal 110s on my 55g denison barb and praecox rainbows tank. I also have 3 angelfish, 2 different loaches, 6 corys and want more...just to give a kick start

I just set up a new 55 gallon tank for 3 goldfish . I came last night to find my tank so cloudy, I felt my fish were gasping for air so I transferred them back into their old tank, now I’m sitting here trying to figure out what went wrong ? The tank itself is not new, someone was throwing out their entire system, I’m guessing the filter broke because that was there with it and it didn’t work so, I bought everything new . New filter, new hoses . The water seems a little warm and that did worry me but I don’t know what to do to make it cold ? Then my new tank is by a window could make it warm ? There is no direct sunlight. Covered patio outside . Please advise, I’m watching all these videos. First time learning about this bloom . I do have plants in the tank as well . I transferred them from my other tank . The plants are not as new as the tank . I started with live plants about two months-ago . How long should I wait before I put the fish back in ?

No lie Kev. I am setting up a 180 myself and just dealt with this. I learned that aquascaping with dragon rock is very tricky. Ended up making tank cloudy cause I was messing with rocks too much.

I had it happen to me last year when I moved from my 30 to the 53. But the fish were also gasping at the surface so I dragged out my old air pump and got it going thinking that was the culprit even though two canister filters were running and agitating the surface.

Watching this as my freshly cycled tank just went cloudy after 2 weeks of being clear. Also having some green algae too. Any tips on fighting algae

UV filtration, problem solved, no chemicals required, and they are fairly cheap. Couple hours and it would look like glass.

So I just started a new 10 gallon tank yesterday and added Seachem Prime and Seachem Stability tank yesterday. All substrate was rinses very well prior to adding water. A log (boiled and then sat in a pot for 2 days getting saturated and discoloration out). Last night and this morning the tank was crystal clear, tonight it’s cloudy. Do I just do nothing? Do I take some water out and do a partial water change? I read for the first week or so I should take out water and replace and then slowly minimize how often I do that.
