Thank you for another super helpful video. You make things so clear and easy to understand!
I just went through a situation where I had a bacterial bloom in my cichlid aquarium. I suspected, and your video helped me confirm, that the issue was caused by excess food. It wasn't as much a question of over-feeding as it was feeding them the wrong food. The day I bought my cichlids, the salesperson recommended this jar of pellet food (labelled for cichlids) that he said was what they fed these fish every day. So I bought it and put some in the tank and it just sat there. They never touched it at all. So I promptly went out and bought some other food. The problem is that I should have vacuumed the substrate and removed the excess food as soon as I realized the fish didn't like it.
I tried cleaning my filters (which were already clean). That may have made things worse.
I tried a couple of water changes. I used Prime to dechlorinate my tapster and to detoxify my tank water; (thank you for your clear explanation of what Prime does too!). Finally, (last night), did another water change, added another filter, additional filter media, vacuumed the substrate, and this morning it looks like it is starting to clear up. A little. I'm hoping that it will continue to improve.
Thank you again. Your videos are awesome.

Fist time having an aquarium. I bought a 10 gallon, cleaned rocks, substrate and fill it water. There was still a little bit of dust but after a couple of water changes my water was good. I did put some wood in there and my water had a yellow taint in it but was told that it can happen because of the tannin in the wood. I did put the wood in boiling water so what i had in my fish tank was not much compared to what was in the boiling water. Started the filters (one back and one small sponge filter) and added the recommended amount of 'stability' from Seachem to help starting the cycling. Since they feed on amonia and i had no fish, i took an uncooked shrimp and placed it in my fish tank (saw that somewhere and the person at the fish store confirmed that some people do that). Next morning go to work and open the fish tank light. All looked good. Coming home from work, i saw a snow storm in my fish tank. After testing the water, i found almost nothing in the water (amonia and company). From what i have found, i had a bacterial bloom in my fish tank but since i saw nothing in the water, i found that suspicious. The only explanation i found is that some battery in the tap water just bloomed like crazy. That was yesterday. Today, it's a little bit less cloudy and was able to see that i had amonia, a little bit of nitrite and no nitrate. With that long story over, i have two questions. Did anyone heard the same kind of story about bacteria from tap water? As per the video, the good bacteria will eventually grow so much that it will just make the other one disappear. And second, is it possible that the light may have played a role in that bacterial bloom?

Sorry if I missed the answer, just set up new tank 2 days ago, didn't fully rinse gravel not sure if thats causing water to be cloudy, do I add fishes to cloudy water or wait till it clears up?
Also have a lot of air bubble on glass....
Also do I leave filter on or let dust or cloudiness settle?

My cloudy water comes after 50% water change. I use prime as in filling tank to neutralize chlorine. ?
