I don't know how strong the Chinese army is now. But I do know that the Chinese army has not lost any war against usa, Soviet union, India since 1949, even with very old time weapons

The West's media - including this channel, are always selective and miserly with the truth. Firstly, all western countries including the US recognize that Taiwan is a part of China (One China principle as it is called), and Taiwan itself has a constitution that states it is a part of China. What Taiwan doesn't recognize is the legitimacy of communist rule over China, a bit like Republican Texas (with its own national and air guard) saying it is part of the US but doesn't recognize Democrat rule over the US.

As the British have shown with Scotland and the Spanish with Catalonia, you can’t declare or hold an independence referendum without the permission of the rest of the country. Meaning constitutionally Taiwan needs the approval of the rest of China to declare independence, not just Taiwanese residents.

The claim of the US defending democracy doesn't hold water when you consider that Taiwan used to be a dictatorship, supported by the US, until its democratic elections in 1996. This shows US support for Taiwan historically extends beyond defending democracy in Taiwan.

Chinese forces fought in the 1950s Korean war, the 1960s Sino-Indian war and border war against the USSR, against Vietnam in the 1970s as well as being involved in sporadic border clashes (artillery exchanges) with India to date.

Besides, how many wars has Taiwan fought recently? The last war it fought in the late 40s was the Chinese civil war, and should the US come to the aid of Taiwan then any war would be a naval war. When was the last time the US fought a naval war? The last western country to fight a naval war was Britain in the 1980s Falklands war. So claims of Chinese war inexperience are oversold.

I love how confident these European analyst are. I just love his laugh while talking about how he doesn't know how Chinese military will perform. Lol. I love his arrogance and confidence. The British accent makes him sound smart than he actually is.

1: china has actually fought the Soviet union even when China was significantly weaker than the Soviet union.

2: china has already fought with America and the European allies in the Korean war.

3: the United States and Soviet union has only had a cold war or should I say cold feet about with each other.

4: china isn't the same china as it were during the 60's and it's a much more stronger.

5: I love the confidence of Europeans and how smart they think they truly are.
