The purpose of this meditation is to guide you to feeling calmer before mealtimes so you can digest your food better. Stress and anxiety in any form can interrupt your digestive system, making you feel like you simply cannot eat anything.

Even this small amount of time to relax can affect your gut for the better. Preparing your body for better digestion of food. Also known as the ‘rest and digest’ response.

My intention for this meditation is to help people who are too scared to eat or for those who have anxiety which upsets their stomach. But it can also be used simply as a way to relax before eating to put you in a state of mindfulness before your meal.

Meditation helps regulate your stress response and helps to suppress long-term inflammation, which, in turn, maintains a healthy gut microbiome.

So use this short meditation before your next meal, and see if it helps your digestion to calm down before eating.

Please make more meditations like this one specifically for mealtime anxiety. I have an eating disorder and this has literally saved my life so many times I’m not even kidding. Your meditations bring me so much comfort and ease and a sense of control and safety (which is what my anxiety is all about) they never fail to bring me back to the present. You help so much. This was so helpful! Thank you! I have no eating disorders as far as I know but my ADHD makes me extremely picky and I have a slight headache at the moment from low blood sugar and the decision paralysis of what's best/tastiest/ what my body is telling me it needs the question of what to cook/weather I should cook is so real. ❤️
