Rushing floodwaters were seen in downtown Boone Friday morning as Tropical Storm Helene brought torrential rain to the North Carolina mountains.

Several inches of water were seen rushing down King Street near the Mast General Store and Depot Street in the heart of downtown Boone. The water was seen running into several storefronts on King Street. A Resort Cams camera showed several vehicles passing through and around the floodwaters which are several inches deep.

Are they afraid get to bad parts where homes are upside down in roads or bridges washed out. Just showing parking lot is pathetic.

Our house in Boone NC was totally destroyed by a landslide during Hurricane Helene. Insurance Denied. We need Cleanup Assistance. FEMA is coming Saturday.

It’s scary that people are still out on the roads.

PLEASE show information from Black Mountain, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, etc. Those areas are still isolated and seem to be much worse off. I’m tired of the same images from Asheville and Boone.
