To anyone reading this and wanting to start your weight loss journey, know that it's not possible to target fat on a part of your body by training the muscle on that part, for example abs workout to get rid of belly fat, don't actually burn fat on your abs. If you want to lose weight you need to sort out your diet to where you are in a caloric deficit, meaning you burn more calories than you consume. Most of the calories you burn are done passively because the body is always in need of energy and will burn whatever you eat, once it doesn't have food to burn it will use energy from your body's fat storage and burn that instead, and if you eat more than it needs, it will store the excess calories as fat. If we're talking strictly weight loss, diet is everything. Of course implementing excerise is adviced because you want to be healthy, not just slim. Start gradually making changes to your diet and exercise, we all start at different phisiques and any improvement is still improvement, making sudden changes too fast and not taking it gradually can demotivate you from even trying. For example you can start with cutting out soda and sugary snacks, and with smaller exercises.
Dont compare your progress with other people's progress, you are on your own journey, compare your progress with where you started and find motivation to keep going. Advance with progressive overload, both on lifts and cardio. As you start seeing improvements you will gain confidence and motivation to keep going. Just remember that results don't come instantly, you will only start seeing results in at earliest a month, reaching your peak physique takes years, and maintaining your health requires a lifetime.
