WHY BLOOD PRESSURE:
High blood pressure, or hypertension, rarely has noticeable symptoms. But if untreated, it increases your risk of serious problems such as heart attacks and strokes.

MUST-HAVE AUTOMATIC BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR:

WHAT INCREASES BLOOD PRESSURE:
It's not always clear what causes high blood pressure, but there are things that can increase your risk.

You might be more at risk if you:
• Are overweight
• Eat too much salt and do not eat enough fruit and vegetables
• Do not do enough exercise
• Drink too much alcohol or coffee (or other caffeine-based drinks)
• Smoke
• Do not get much sleep or have disturbed sleep
• Are over 65
• Have a relative with high blood pressure
• Are of black African or black Caribbean descent
• Live in a deprived area

Making healthy lifestyle changes can sometimes help reduce your chances of getting high blood pressure and help lower your blood pressure if it's already high.

VIDEOS DISCUSSED IN THIS VIDEO:

LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE NATURALLY:
These lifestyle changes can help prevent and lower high blood pressure:
• Reduce the amount of salt you eat and have a generally healthy diet
• Cut back on alcohol
• Exercise regularly
• Cut down on caffeine
• Stop smoking

Some people with high blood pressure may also need to take 1 or more medicines to stop their blood pressure getting too high.

For me, exercise 1 hour everyday (mainly walking, running, pushing up, strengthening), Don’t eat in the afternoon or at night, laugh a lot and don’t overthink, Eat plenty of fish, fruit and vegetables. Works for me for over 30 years. I’ve had high blood pressure since I was a kid mostly because of genetics inherited from my dad who also had high blood pressure since he was in his late 20s. Unfortunately he died at 82 due to a cancer and this also proves that you can live a long healthy life with hypertension as long as you live healthy.

Thanks for the tips sir! Im 31, been working night shift for 10 years. Have mild hypertension. Going to quit coffee and looking for a day job. Otherwise healthy, but it came as a surprise when doc said my BP was high. Get checked everyone!

I was a pothead for 20 years and recently diagnosed with stage 2 hypertension as soon as I quit. Im an average of 145-148/ 80/116 and I get crazy nightmares that make it spike in the morning and at night because I get anxiety before bed. I was at 180/120 and I cut out the sodium, take a proprietary formula which has green tea (decaf) and Im on 10g of Lisinopril a day. Sleep is an absolute must as well as consistant exercise...limit the stress in your life and a little potassium doesn't hurt. My lowest reading was 139/82 and it only raised once the nightmares started. This is due to a lack of dopeamine an seretonin from quitting weed but Im hoping it levels out soon. Shootn for that bp under 120/75!

The lack of sleep is raising my pressure. Thank you for Thai reminder. I’ve been off of meds for 2months, maintaining my good pressure, but my sleep slipped from 117/78 to 144/90 and my sleep went from 7.5 to 3-6hrs and that has to be the issue😡

Thanks for a great video - and most of all for getting straight down to it, without forcing us to watch a "learn more" video (where we have to sit through various people's life histories before we get the solution!)

dear abraham fantastic video, awesome tips and excellent information. all your videos are fantastic and helpful. Green tea is best and your app is helpful and useful. I lost my father due to this at very young age. He drank green tea and takes ramapiril. It affected his eyes. This is very important topic. My local area and my local paper is doing on this topic

My b/p is high. Have been on meds for years. Finally a dr realised that my sodium levels were dangerous low. This happens with any bp tablets, so off them and trying beater blockers. Any suggestions
