Asian discrimination is real af, but difficult to talk about because people don’t see Asian folks as oppressed. The black student with poorer grades and less talent than an Asian student with better grades and more talent, will get favored to fit the affirmative action quota for black students.
All major American cities have benefitted from Asian immigration and generations of hard working Asian-American families. Asians are far less inclined to commit crimes as well, even in low socio-economic backgrounds

A group of people resented for working harder than others and contributing to society?

Asian success isn't just about genetics. It's also about culture and mindset. It's about the values and knowledge that they have and pass on to their kids. Those values should be rewarded rather than punished.

Does this mean they are going to start limiting how many black people can be in the NBA?

Interesting video. My son is at USNews Top 5 colleges. We toured many schools including Ivy's, Duke, and UChicago, and more. He wanted to see UC Berkeley when were in SF on Vacation after he decided on his college. A beautiful campus. He and I quickly noticed something interesting. All these massive buildings and centers of both humanities and science with Asian donors' names. Something that we did not see in Ivy schools. in 1970-1980s, a class action lawsuit on the behalf of Asian students resulted in CA banning the use of race as a factor in college admission. As a result, Asians comprise 30-40% of the class in top CA public universities. Such a high Asian cohort in these top colleges did not seem to hurt their prestige or rankings. if any, the CA colleges are now ranked higher than they ever have in 1970s and 1980s. This is similar to discrimination against Jewish students in 1940s and 1950s at Ivy League colleges. The rest of country should learn from what occurred in CA. I am not Jewish or Asian. I am against subtle discrimination against Asian students in college admission processes. Doing so is not American, and doing so damages all of us.

As a black West Indian in Canada who never had to fill in a form on my race when entering university, I say to any institution out there: DON’T DO ME ANY FAVOURS!

Why is it everytime Asian discrimination is mentioned African Americans are somehow brought into the conversation?

If people wanted to write a hit-piece on Joe, the quote "What's wrong with one culture dominating?" could be twisted in a very nasty way if taken out of context.

North East Asians rarely complain about discrimination because they are a k selected high iq group who take personal responsibility.

In terms of Academics we tend to look at it in a very competitive format either against someone or ourselves but with any competition there will always be winners and losers and that is a bitter pill to swallow and so everyone wants to feel like winners or at least even with everyone else but that is a false narrative to your own development, to everyone else's. Education shouldn't be about who has the best stats but rather reaching a standard of mental development. In terms of Diversity I think everyone should have the opportunity to learn but I don't think its necessary to have an equal outcome, that is just narcissism and insecurity motivating that.

I live in a city half Asian half Hispanic and each race stays to themselves and no one really go to opposing stores and hole in the wall food places. On the bright side I love going to get ramen then walking across the street to tacos
