Prepping For The Weekend

Come spend the day in the kitchen with me as I prep food for the weekend. I find it so much easier to spend one day prepping a few snacks and sides for the weekend so I'm not spending all weekend in the kitchen cooking.

I fix eggs in the instapot., 2 mins pressure, natural release. Sometimes I leave them in there for 30 mins, cold bath and they peel beautifully.

I like to make quiche. It takes 5 eggs, milk and cheese and you can put bacon, ham, onion, or whatever you like in it. You use one pie crust.

Water glass them! Then you’ll have eggs in the winter. They should be fine for 1-1.5 years if stored like we store our home canned foods. I just got a dehydrator, too! And I’m going to make beef jerky today. My husband goes through ALOT and it’s expensive. I really really like watching your channel!

I use the Instant Pot to cook my eggs, and they are so easy to get the shells off.

I love using eggs yolks to make lemon and lime curd, and the whites to make meringue cookies as some others have said. We eat sausage breakfast casserole a lot (uses 6 eggs!).

I have a Cosori dehydrator that is identical to yours and it works great. I've used it for celery, veggies, herbs, beef jerky, etc. Hope you enjoy yours!

We have two dozen hens so we get way more eggs than we can eat. I’m looking for egg recipes as well!

Make breakfast burritos to freeze and breakfast sandwiches to freeze. Pancakes and waffles for the freezer plus oatmeal bakes that will help with using some of your eggs.

Your eggs are so beautiful! Our family loves dutch baby, but I did find I had to adapt the recipes I found online because they didn't turn out right if I followed exactly. Another thing that uses lots of eggs is quiche, but if I don't want to bother with making a crust, a frittata or Spanish omelette is even simpler, and you can add tons of whatever filling you happen to have on hand--veggies, potatoes, salami, etc. Delicious hot or cold.

Have you thought about getting an egg boiler? I have one that cooks up to a dozen eggs at one time. I've had great success with mine. Rarely get a boiled egg that is hard to peel.

Very nice video. Congrats on your dehydrator. I like to make fried rice with some egg and make meringue cookies or Pavlova, especially when berries are in season.

We eat alot of egg salad. Instead of tuna or chicken we use up our extra eggs.

The cookies look so yummy. The scraps of granola would also be good on ice cream. I enjoy watching you "work" that wonderful kitchen, it just fits you so well.

We eat quiche, not complicated and ingredients usually on hand. Meringue/Pavlova with lemon custard or curd use lots of eggs. If you don’t like Yorkshire pudding, you won’t like Dutch baby.

I’m sure you’ve probably tried these already. But there are two ways I’ve seen people use their extra eggs. One is to use an egg carton, crack, the egg into each individual slot., Freeze them in the freezer, when they’re frozen, pop them out and put them in a freezer bag, then they are ready to use when you want to make an egg, you just put them in the skillet and let them thaw out in the skillet to cook. Another way is to break all your eggs open into a crockpot, and cook them that way if you’re going to make egg salad, pasta salad, or pea salad, or any recipe where you have to chop up eggs.
