I am a therapist and had a client who came for depression treatment and I always ask for D levels, B levels, stealth infection, etc… Her D levels were 7 ! I told her she needed supplementation, perhaps on an emergency basis . Her doctor told her that I was crazy, that D deficiency cannot hurt you, and no way was it contributing to her depression. She stopped being my client because she believed the doctor.

Joint pains, insomnia, anxiety attacks, shortness of breath, cannot swallow, the list went on and on. She went to a bunch of doctors who couldn't figure out what's wrong, they ran a bunch of tests and prescribed a bunch of meds, none worked. She was afraid she was losing her mind. Then we noticed none of the blood work performed included vitamin D. We put her on D3 and magnesium and gradually she is back to normal again. The doctors were completely useless, they don't stop to think. They just prescribe something that would dull the symptoms (more likely not) and cause side effects, and kick you out the door.

Personally I think many doctors have no idea what they are doing when it comes to a lot of different issues. They are funded by and trained by big pharma to throw a prescription at every problem. The lack of curiosity in many doctors baffles me. Get to the root of the problem and quit managing only symptoms.

I had to take drastic steps to heal my body of many, many, many ailments and issues, but I'm nearly completely healed now of all my past issues. I've turned my health around by completely ignoring medical recommendations and the big pharma funded doctors I used to see. Your body is meant to heal itself if you get out of its way and it will do so to the best of its ability. I'm glad you are feeling better. I hope your recovery continues. Imagine a simple vitamin deficiency and a doctor can't figure that What a shame you had to go through all of that suffering.

It pisses me off so much that they dont check for all things during blood test. Youre already there anyways to get the draw

A nurse told me that all cancer patients had one thing in common- vitamin D levels in their bodies are very low or absent altogether.

Isn't it incredible how easy it is to get better?! I was so fatigued that I thought I was dying. So grateful to be better.

Our modern society suffers so much physically and psychologically just from vitamin deficiencies and they don’t even know it. It’s talked about so little. It’s insane. Glad you’re better man.

It all started on Christmas Day, December 25, 2023. I had the most severe panic attack of my life. I honestly thought I was going to die. My heart was racing at 190 bpm while resting, and my blood pressure was through the roof. I ended up in the ER, where they gave me an IV to bring down my blood pressure, checked my heart, and did some other tests. The doctors told me I was fine and sent me home, but what followed was one of the darkest periods of my life. Words can’t truly describe it. And I’ve been through some serious mental struggles before—depression that made me want to end it all daily, and I even attempted suicide a few times. As a child, I lived in constant fear, dealing with extreme beatings from my mother. But none of that prepared me for what vitamin D deficiency did to me.

For about two months, I was trapped in a nightmare of constant panic attacks. They were so bad that I had to walk in circles in my living room for hours just to keep from losing my mind, even though I was completely exhausted. I couldn’t sleep more than three hours a night and barely ate due to anxiety, which caused me to lose a lot of weight. My thoughts were a mess, and I took a lot of sick days from work. Eventually, I decided to take control and started running to burn off the anxiety. That meant I was getting sun exposure, even during the winter months of January and February. I began to improve—until April, when the friend I used to run with moved away. Since I was feeling better, I quit running and went back to my old routine of working until 5 PM, then heading home to cook and only going out at night—when there was no sun. Within a month, the panic attacks came back just as strong, but with new symptoms like increased thirst, frequent urination, atrial fibrillation, weakness, and fatigue. I almost ran over a pedestrian while driving because I was so tired. I knew something was very wrong, and every day, I thought it might be my last. I had no idea what was happening to me.

This went on for a month until June, when I accidentally started spending more time in the sun again. Slowly, I began to feel better. Then, on June 27, I left for a holiday in Germany. During that trip, I spent nearly all day in the sun, walking around and sightseeing. For the first time in ages, I felt amazing—no panic attacks, no anxiety, just a great mood, full of energy and life. It was like heaven. But when I got back home, I fell back into my usual routine of work, cooking, and staying indoors, and within a month, the panic attacks returned. The insomnia was back too, with me only getting three hours of sleep a night. By then, I’d had enough. I decided to get extensive blood work done, including tests for all my vitamins. Sure enough, my vitamin D level was a mere 24 ng/ml.

Since then, I’ve made it a point to get daily sun exposure and started taking 25, 000 IU of vitamin D supplements for seven days straight, followed by 5, 000 IU daily until my levels recover. I’ll be testing monthly to monitor it. From the first day of sun exposure and supplementation, my panic attacks vanished. The anxiety is still there, but it’s more of an annoying background noise rather than something that makes me feel like I’m about to die. By day four, I felt normal again—so normal that I sat in my car and cried because I finally found the source of my suffering. After eight months of the worst mental torture I’ve ever experienced, I had an answer. Looking back, I realize I had symptoms of vitamin D deficiency as far back as 2021: aching teeth, anxiety, depression—symptoms that would fade in the summer and return in the winter.

Here’s a list of all the symptoms I dealt with: extreme panic attacks, depression, severe fatigue (my body felt dead), insomnia (sleeping only three hours a night at best, sometimes not at all), severe health anxiety, pounding heart palpitations (so strong they kept me from sleeping), a racing heart, hot flashes, chills, waking up in the middle of the night with a panic attack, constantly feeling like something was horribly wrong with my body but unable to pinpoint it, on-and-off diarrhea and stomach pain, zero appetite (I had to force myself to eat), weakness (so bad I couldn’t even sit up and felt like I might faint), muscle aches, joint and teeth pain, bone pain, fear of everything (I was terrified to even go outside, convinced I was going to die), muscle twitches, anhedonia (no emotion toward anything), zero libido, hair loss, and recurring sinus infections. That’s everything I can remember, but if more comes to mind, I’ll add it. Continuing: Electrical sensations in my head, really bad paresthesia in my hands and legs (made me think I either had nerve damage or diabetes at the time)

I never knew vitamin D was so vital (turns out it functions more like a hormone) or how much damage a deficiency could do to the body and mind. I will NEVER let my levels get that low again, and I’m committed to supplementing during the winter and getting blood tests every three months. The experience, especially the panic attacks and anxiety, was pure hell, and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

‼️PLEASE READ UP‼️
To the OP: increasing vitamin D levels with supplements may suppress melatonin generation, leading to sleep disturbances. So, should take vitamin D in the morning to replicate how the body synthesizes them from sunlight rather than taking them at night. Also, one other thing you should try is waking up early in the morning, taking your Vitamin D, and having some fatty food for breakfast. Vitamin D absorbs better with fatty foods. And one of the main things you want to try doing is going outside for like at least 15-30 minutes in the morning, even if there’s no sunlight and the sun is behind the clouds - it still works. This will help to reset your circadian rhythm and your body clock (so your body knows when the day started and when it should end). Furthermore, abstain from screens 2-3 hours prior to going to bed (the blue light cancelling on your tech doesn’t actually work and still disrupts your circadian clock, new study showed, so try to avoid watching TV, and being on your tablet/ phone). And some super old advice (which I didn’t know until recently) - for good restful sleep you must go to sleep before midnight, the advice goes - 1 hour of sleep before midnight equals 4 hours of sleep after midnight. Also, the best Vitamin D is the one in Virgin olive oil caps (just read up on absorption and make sure that it’s actually olive oil, rather than some rapeseed oil or other vegetable/ seed oil crap that’s bad for humans). I myself take 2 olive oil vitamin D caps of 2000 + 100 of vitamin K2, so that’s 4000 vit D 200 vit K2 (in the same caps). And if I forget to take them for a period time, I take 6000 of vitamin D for a short period of time.
It’s actually really really crazy to hear from you and so many of your comments that so many doctors (how idiotic do you have to be to not know about vitamin D deficiency and AAAALLL of the horrible side effects that start from it?! There’s so much evidence (peer reviewed studies and so on) that scientifically prove that Vitamin D deficiency causes inflammation (which can result in autoimmune conditions), depression, bones hurting (can be few bones or all bones), muscle hurting, full body myalgia (full body pain), complications from flus and Covid-19 (several peer reviewed studies proved it), vitamin D is great to prevent complications from respiratory infections but also is now tried to be used as a treatment. There are also links between vitamin D deficiency and asthma. You shouldn’t take vitamin D with calcium though, as a study showed that this increases risks of a stroke.
And regarding the “recommended dose” of vitamin D, VERY IMPORTANT - the recommended dose and guidelines for the levels of vitamin D were written when doctors and researchers were ONLY taking into consideration bone health and vitamin D, however they’re now seeing that vitamin D is playing a larger role in your bodies, and hence now they started looking into whether that guidelines levels should be increased. By the way, if for example your vitamin D is at say 25 and say between 25-30 is low but “acceptable” levels according to the outdated knowledge, most doctors won’t even tell you about it. So every time you do a blood test - ask for a print out of your numbers so you can research it yourself! And because of what we know (that 25-30 is “acceptable” but very low) for bone health, it could be already affecting your health in many other ways, including lowering your immune system.
I live in the U.K. and whenever I get a blood test or complain to doctor about fatigue or bones hurting, the first thing the doctors do is to check for vitamin D deficiency (though still if vit D levels are low but “acceptable”, they also won’t mention that it’s on the low side).
Many doctors do not keep up with the latest research and studies and are very stubborn about updating their knowledge, and if you have such a doctor - my only advice for you is to find a better doctor.
Please, like this comment so this important info isn’t lost in the sea of comments, because I really think that this info will help someone (I don’t ask for comment likes for attention lol)

Glad I found this video. You described every single symptom i had. I started 2000 Vit D and have noticed a huge difference after having my Dr check my Vit D levels. Hair is getting a little thicker. Sleep is way better and energy levels are a lot better. Still a work in progress. Glad to see you are working toward being better!

My sister just sent this video to me because I been having panic attacks almost every day. They were so extreme I had to call 911 several times and gone to the ER several times as well in the past 30 days. This is helpful. I will definitely be going to the doctor next week to check my levels.

13. Sleeping all day and never feeling refreshed from sleep

15. Sweating
