mine has been like this for the past hour. I've tried these methods. All it does is turn the phone off to pitch black for about 7 seconds and then it automatically goes back to the apple logo. i have the 6s though, so i don't know what to do becauuse i got my phone about 4 months ago.

What's unbelievable to me is the sloppy engineering that Apple is selling us. This is a known, predictable problem that could easily be prevented by the operating system stopping incoming data and shutting off the camera BEFORE it runs out of memory, and telling the user "Delete stuff and I'll turn your apps back on." It could give multiple warnings before it ever gets to this point. For the price, shouldn't the operating system protect itself from user data? from running out of enough memory to run? be a little more resilient? Really sloppy.

I have an iPhone 7 Plus I did tried to press the volume down and and power button and nothing seems to happened!, then I used iPhone charger and connected into my iMac computer and asked me to do 2 things! you either press update or press to do a restore! (Now my understanding is that if you choose restore it will do a restore! it will wipe all your information including photos videos etc. I don't want to choose a restore because I have valuable information! is there any third party software to that I can buy over the internet so I can retrieve my phone while my phone is on that pitched black screen mode? please help me! can I bring my phone to a their party technician perhaps? remember I don't want to lose my photos! I never did a backup just remember!

ok so this what happen i was watching youtube then i got a message and went to snapchat, it was not working i was so confuse it said to accept the terms and all that when i clicked accept it was taking me out of the app i was like huh why, i clicked the app a lot of times and it kept just taking me out so i powered it off i pressed the power button and the volume up button it turned off so i turned it back on and it was taking so long and that how its stuck and its been since 8:15 to now what do i do andi got this phone like 2 months ago its the iphone11

Thanks for the help. I was trying to hard reset, but it wasn't working. It turns out I just wasn't holding down the buttons long enough (I figured 5-10 seconds was enough, but it wasn't).


The new update basically bricked my iphone and is making me restore to factory default, but at least it's not completely broken like I feared.

I've done this multiple times and it continues to do this. It will not start up past the apple logo.

My iPhone 7 did the same thing today and none of these techniques worked so I just shut it down (by pressing the power button for a long time) and let it off for the day, when I turned it on later on it switched on I then installed the software update immediately
