Thanks. I did all the usual steps but didn't work until I took your suggestion of the 20 seconds (which I didn't read or see anyone else suggesting). But that seem to be what enabled the phone into recovery mode. Thanks again.

Hopefully this will help someone someday somewhere, i have an iphone 7 plus and i droped it n my homebutton cable ripped and started boot looping so i just disconnected the extra cord piece that ripped and it worked
