iPhone Won't Turn On After Charging For Long Time? The Fix!

The first thing to do when your iPhone won't turn on while charging for a long time is a hard reset. This forces your iPhone to abruptly turn off and back on again. It's possible your iPhone's software has crashed on a black screen, making it appear as though your iPhone won't turn on.

If a hard reset doesn't fix the problem, try charging your iPhone with a different cable and charger. You should also clean out the charging port of your iPhone to make sure there isn't any lint or debris stuck inside.

The last step you can take to completely rule out a deep software problem is a DFU restore. This restore erases and reloads every line of code on your iPhone and installs a fresh version of iOS. Before putting your iPhone in DFU mode, make sure to back it up first!

If you can't put your iPhone in DFU mode, and it still isn't turning on, there may be a hardware problem. We recommend reaching out to Apple support online, in-person, or over the phone.

Just had this problem this morning. My iphone 13 was on the charger and I tried to turn it on...nothing. I powered on my pc and found this video. I left my Ipad Pro to charge while I was outside, and after coming back it just WOULD NOT turn on. I searched through the net and youtube and found out the force reset method, but no where was it mentioned for how long I have to keep holding the power button.

I woke up early in the morning to a black screen. It took at least 4 times of trying the first fix to be successful in getting the phone to turn back on! Don't give up- I even held the power button for 60 seconds to no avail-this was my third time trying. On the fourth time, it turned on after 15 seconds of holding the power button.
