Last night during Opening Night Live Leslie Benzies finally revealed the game him and his team at Build a Rocket Boy have been working on for the past 5 years. Everywhere was finally revealed with a teaser trailer and the first details, but it's... confusing..

What if the "story mode" of this game is like Ready player One? Or like a simulation you are trapped in? It feels that way mainly at the last seconds of the trailer when we see a more realistic, dark and gritty world compared to the colorful and bright game from before.

I think this might be the new "Roblox" Where they let developers create games, experiences, worlds etc. There won't just be one game on there instead more of a place to looks for all games created on their platform. Now this is just a guess and my option but I think this will be the better version of so called "Roblox". Love to hear other peoples thoughts tho

From what the director said on stage it looks like you will have a immersive, cinematic driven story (campaign) with realistic graphics and maybe having to go inside this "metaverse" and then Online Mode will be more of a create your own thing, roleplay or whatever

Even if you dislike the multiplayer aspect we may get a pretty decent story mode

Lets not jump to conclusions or get ahead of ourselves. We really don't know much about what the goal of this game is and weather or not its going to be amazing. I am sure later in the years we will get more information and gameplay of this game is about. I seen a similar situation when Death Stranding was first shown and you can tell many people were either confused or just didn't get the lore behind the game.

They say "Don't judge a book by its cover" I am interested to see where this game goes. It may not be the so called "GTA killer" that people were speculating but it might turn to be something really cool if it plays its cards right.

The information is so minimal that is very difficult to develop a first impression. In my experience, the more they "tease without telling", the worse. Remember the Death Strending's train of hype? Everybody was so caught in the hype until the gameplay reveal (like 3 days before the official release). "Oooh it's a Walking simulator"!

Sounds like it'll be a game like Dreams. A game where you make levels/"games" and it's all community made content (Dreams was made by the same people that made Little Big Planet, which might be more familiar). Nothing to write home about.

This is not going to be some shitty NFT game. If Benzies was simply focused on money he would have stayed at R* raking in his cut of that Sharkcard fortune. From day one it's felt like he has a Ready Player One type of vision for what he wants to build. The struggle is how to share that with the public. What's the hook? What's the game part of the game? I'm optimistic because by all accounts he was the visionary behind GTA and Red Dead.
