This is absolute truth. I use to be hungry all the time. I wasn't eating a lot of junk food. I was eating mostly vegetables, eggs, nuts, fruit, and lowfat dairy, but I wasn't getting enough good fats and nutrients. I was eating almonds but when i added 1/2 an avocado to my daily eating plan the hunger was obliterated. I almost never snack anymore. It's so freeing. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I want to stand on a roof and shout "AVOCADOS!"

What has helped me is to eat a leafy salad with diced tomato, chopped walnuts, feta cheese and 1/2 avocado (the good fats) with balsamic dressing. I eat the salad first and then later I have a form of protein. This sustains me.

Wonderful information and easy to understand. Thanks for wanting to help us 40+ aged women. Lord knows we need the help! It's so unfair that our bodies become harder to maintain the older we get. There's so much info. out there. It's nice to have you here Dr. Becky, to make it all make sense to us.

I feel like I've made good food choices. I eat a ton of veges and fruits, whole grains, good oils, meat, but My stomach is still always raw and starving. I can ignore it during the day, but at night it keeps me awake. Does anyone else have this issue?

l love your videos! I wish I had found them earlier!! I am a 57y old very "young" grandmother :) You are touching on all the vital information I need now as I try to finally regain my old self after 6 kids! I am also going to see a Dr about my thyroid. I am having trouble taking off the weight, my hair falls out daily and I am always FREEZING!! even when everyone else is warm! Is being very cold all the time also a sign of thyroid issues??

I truly enjoy your videos and I'm going to give your plan a try. I've been following a Paleo approach and it's really not working for me. I have Hashimoto's and I think the heavy meat factor is really inflaming my body and impairing my digestion. Most Paleo diets shun legumes, but I think I'm going back to beans and high fiber as you suggest. I'm perimenopausal, and really want to improve my health, lower inflammation, and keep weight in check.

7:44 True. Today I only had 1320 calories and I was able to get 35 grams of fiber and 131 grams of protein. It makes doing OMAD much easier when ghrelin is out of the way. Another huge thing for me is getting plenty of sleep. If I don't get enough sleep, I'll be very hangry. If I got a good nights rest then I can likely go the whole day without eating anything.

I like this video. It is informative and scientifically correct, but I am not a fan of celery at all ! what could I sub it with? Carrot sticks are a good alternative....hopefully? I love carrots whether they are steamed, boiled or just plain....mmm crunchy.

No wonder I felt hungry after eating, I really liked the explanation
of why consuming soda and muffin does not keep hunger away, I, like many others
I am sure always thought if you eat something, anything that that  would be enough to keep hunger at bay. Curse
you refined carbs!
