TESLA Autopilot- 8 Things You NEED To Know!

Показать описание
This video is about the free/basic/included autopilot that comes with every Tesla. NOT Full Self Driving!! I don't have Full Self Driving. Watch this video before you use Autopilot!!! Tesla Autopilot is great, and I use it about 70 miles per day. BUT, these are the most dangerous things that I have found using autopilot for 14.000 miles!!!! This video is a little long, and I'm sorry but it is very important that drivers know these things before engaging autopilot! I found all these things on my own and people need to know about them! It's not anything wrong with autopilot, but these things may be unexpected for new drivers. Please watch and please share!

Sorry but in my previous comment I neglected to express my thanks and appreciation for your common-sense approach to show us how best to operate our cars in a safe and fun way. Thank you again.

This is great information as nobody tells you about these dangerous situations.

20:00 With FSD, your single car will stop at a red stop light. It will not go on green until you press the accelerator.
Actually, FSD pops up a warning 600 ft before the intersection. If you fail to tap the accelerator then, it will stop at the light - whether green or red.

2:54 Yes, autopilot likes to drive dead center in lanes. Not a great idea when there is a bike in the bike lane and you are passing them. Most people will hug the left side lane markers, or even overshoot it a bit so as to make passing safer.

You hit the nail right on the head. I have experienced every single one of these situations. You explained them perfectly. For these reasons i hardly ever use AP unless im driving on the freeway for more than 45 mins. Great video!
P.S. i didn't mind the length of the video because i got to look at your beautiful face the whole time.😍

Really good points, all. It seems to me there are couple of principles here, much more widely applicable:

1. Whenever you try *anything* new, por dios try it out in a small way first. A spicy new dish…or Autopilot. Seems like common sense. Maybe there's a tendency to think that doesn't apply to much with something like Autopilot, because much of the reason for having it is to take care of those contingent situations for you. And it does…but only to a limited degree. When dealing with complex, new systems, apply the small-scale trial principle for *even longer* periods. Think of it like an intimate relationship. Give it time to develop.

2. Be careful about doing things that could alarm others. An example was given early in the video, about lane changes. You may know what you're doing, but others may not.

Now I'm getting excited on my new order online Tesla because of your channel you convince me to buy one. This will be the start of my new favorite YouTube channel (Sara) about Tesla. Now I'm your newest follower.

You have done a big favor for presenting this video for all the potential Tesla buyers and learners by showing actual examples of what kind of risks AP involves. It was a rare and most honest Tesla video I have seen over the past eighteen months. You deserve our viewers' respect!

What an extensive research you have done to make this video. It really helps so many Tesla car owners like me to know the limitations of autopilot. You are really awesome!!!

It’s all really good advice. I think the thing to remember is you always need to stay attentive and be capable of taking control at a moments notice. Autopilot doesn’t mean you don’t need to remain focused and totally aware of what’s going on around you at all times.

This really helps!!! Your explanations on AP based on real life scenarios are gold. Thank you for making this available to the public. It has helped me understand some quirks in my first 1000 miles of driving a model Y. Your channel is one of the best!

I’m picking up my S Plaid later this week and I’m trying to learn everything I can about operating it. Love your videos! They are very helpful. And you’re beautiful too!

Sara, I think the title of this video could….should be, “Tesla Autopilot….not quite ready for prime time.” I’m a retired commercial driver with 2.5 million miles of accident free driving pulling cryogenic gasses, liquid oxygen, nitrogen, nitrous oxide, hydrogen, CO2, etc. No second chances. I could never, ever trust autopilot. I’ve tried, but I simply cannot place enough trust in this current system to replace, or even augment my own driving and accident avoiding abilities. Thank you for a great, common sense video.

Very helpful. Tesla drivers should avoid these situations by listening to your advices.

Thank you for this video. I recently noticed that the AP did not slow down at a sharp curve on the highway which really scared me. Lesson learned!

This is well covered of my one week Tesla experience, and I strongly recommend any new Tesla users watch it all without skipping a second .
I do think Tesla is overselling the cruise control feature by calling it Autopilot, which is confusing at the first place.
Thanks for making this video.
