So I have to say I love the fact that you end your videos with I so appreciate you, and not the cringey love you guys other influencers say. It feels more balanced, and a nice way to keep a good healthy distance. I really hate how so many influencer say they love their audiences when it just makes no sense and feels like a cheap way to garner loyalty. Whereas just produce quality content, maintain a cordial and healthy approach and they will come. Anyway I just felt like mentioning that cos it strikes me every time how good you are in the way you engage with your audience.

So the habits being rewarding is something I was just thinking about the other day but in terms of hobbies, you don’t do hobbies solely for the end goal, you do hobbies because you enjoy the process. Like I love hand-sewing, I haven’t actually finished any specific project yet but working on them is fun and therapeutic.

The best habit tip I ever got, that made things finally click for me, was from one of your earlier videos when you said you have to make your habits/goals for who you are right now, because you won't always be your aspirational self every day. It helped me big in stopping the giving up because I didn't do my morning perfectly, and traps like that.

I have to say, so far for me my external rewards have worked. I made it a thing where I pretty much only drink coffee after a run. It honestly made it so much easier for me to get up to run the 2/3 times a week, because I had something to look forward to when I wasn’t proud of myself (because I’ve never run before and am a major perfectionist who is literally studying PE and can see all the things I’m doing wrong, right up to the angle of my legs or my breathing rhythm) which I will say, is easier to be now that I’ve started, I’ve only seen improvements, so I actually look forward to my runs and how far I can push myself that day. I also have enlisted my friend as an accountability partner, so we do a call every Sunday night to talk about our goals, whether that be problems we’ve faced or what we’ve achieved. It’s easier to be a cheerleader to yourself when you’ve done it for someone else. It’s almost contagious.
