The thing about Daenerys is that she never had a good example on how to be an effective leader. She’s used to using her dragons and armies to fight for what she believed in but that did not mean she made an effective politician and leader Westeros needs…

Jorah, Missandei, Barristan, Daario, and Grey Worm are great but they are not politicians. They’re military commanders and a ladies companion.

She needed Tyrion and Varys to navigate Westeros and understand it’s people. She needed to know the small folk don’t care who sits on the throne but their liege lords. She needed to truly understand why the Targaryen rule was opposed and not that people were sewing dragon banners or praying for her health and her brother’s. That her actions now would make her just as much tyrant in their eyes as Cersei.

She needed tough love and was starting to become arrogant from her accomplishments and titles received, making her blind to her faults and unwilling to take criticism or listen to advisors warning her or guiding her.

They writer of this show are AMAZING...they completely destroy 7 season's worth of character development in 1 episode...truly a master class in character assassination. They retire and never ever write anything again.

The moment dany truly snapped was when she saw how easily the city fell with almost no civilian bloodshed. And that was after they had time to prepare while everyone was fighting in the north. Everyone who advised her were wrong and she lost those closest to her because of it.

Dany has become so wrapped up in her litany of (mostly self granted) titles and this sense of “destiny” that she has become closed off to criticism and counsel that has sought to find a more rational course. In felling tyrants, she has become one herself. And with the most recent episode, she has manifested the same madness that consumed her father. She cannot sit on the Iron Throne. Varys saw it. Tyrion regretted betraying the Spider’s trust quickly after. Jon sees it, though he’s still partly in denial. Greyworm will never see it, refusing to even if the proof were plain in front of him. Daenaerys would take down the entirety of Westeros to avenge two dead dragons and one dead handmaiden. The only questions remaining are who will it be that ends her before she can become an even greater danger, and who will ultimately sit on the throne? And if the ends justify the means in her mind, what will justify the ends when they are reached? She claimed she was not come to Westeros to be “queen of ashes”, but that is precisely what she is quickly becoming.

Daenerys says she was there to rid the world of tyrants, but she knew that jon snow had a greater claim on the throne, and she knew he was not a tyrant, right? She was so drunk with her own power at that point, it was sickenening. I always thought she had a certain arrogance and entitlement that was not flattering. So when people say she suddenly became something she wasn’t…….I thought there was always signs there.

This scene cuts in right when they are talking about what they plan to do to kings landing. She already planned at this moment to destroy kings landing and kill everyone. Grayworm repeats the same line he says to Jon later. Kill the queens enemy's kill all who follow cersei. Everyone watching the show just chose to ignore it or it went over them
