I like how Tywin doesn't think he's particularly smart for seeing through Pycelle's charade, but rather that everyone else is incredibly stupid.

Any deleted scene with Tywin is a cardinal sin.

It's such a travesty that this scene got cut. Completely changes this entire character.

I love that the few times we see Tywin "relaxing, " he's either catching or preparing his own food, gutting a carcass or reeling in fish. It communicates so much while saying nothing.

The mighty Tywin doing everything for himself..fishing for himself, hunting and skinning deers for himself
That shows so much about his character

I like how this shows that Tywin actually at least respects Tyrion's decisions as acting hand.

Charles Dance's performance as Tywin Lannister is so phenomenal. Even if he is a little bit different from the books. He is absolutely astounding.

"is it possible that so many can be so stupid for so long?"

Yes. Yes it is.

I love that he made maester carry the fish in. In case he had any second thoughts about putting his facade back on.

For those who don't know, these two were in a Bond film together. For Your Eyes Only. Pycelle played Kristatos, the main antagonist and Tywin played the mercenary Claus, hired by Pycelle to kill Bond.

The fish is the sigil of house Tully, love the innuendo of Tywin crushing them

I cannot fathom why they deleted this. It's literally like the only time Tywin openly defends Tyrion's choices and embraces him as his son (even if he isn't present). It also shows that he can spot a huckster a mile away and just the act of catching his own fish to eat for dinner makes him more of a commoner and not some aristocrat trying to play dethroning games and crap. He genuinely cares about his legacy and family.

Such a cool character Tywin, his first appearance in the show of him butchering an Animal so casually like a professional and this scene catching Fish with ease like he's brushing his teeth while telling Pycelle's he sees through his BS, the guy was so clever and cool AF.

I think the biggest tragedy here is that not only do we lose the conversation between Tywin and Pycelle, we also lose the subtle nods that Tywin is just a teensy bit superstitious, almost to the point that I wonder if he doesn't secretly hold respect for the Old Gods. He butchers a stag in his first scene with Jaime because he's basically just waiting for Robert the Stag King to bite it so his grandson will be on the throne. In this scene, he's catching fish, the symbol of House Tulley. He's stuck in a position where he can't directly act against them, so he symbolically takes his frustrations out on their sigils.

Is it me or does Charles Dance own every scene he’s in?
