What I love about tyrells is that wolves (stark), Lannisters (lions), targaeryans (dragons) are shown to be cunning, strong, and semi smart. Tyrells symbolizes flowers- beautiful, peace, mesmerizing, but when u touch it, thorns comes out with deceiving unknown intentions and wisdom. U don't know what's it's real intention

I still love this scene all these years later because it showcases the way they play the game perfectly.

Olenna uses witty jabs to test those around her. She gathers information about them based on their responses- do they become offended? Do they manage to match her wits? Most of the time, even skilled manipulators like Littlefinger give her information about their true nature, based entirely on their reactions to her. Varys impresses her because he isn't rattled or intimidated by her at all, and because he shows genuine concern for Sansa AND the people of Westeros. When she says, "you're a clever man" she really means " I trust you now".

Meanwhile, Varys already has all the information he needs about Olenna. He isn't interested in impressing or manipulating her. He knows already that she is smart enough to see the merits of his plan, and is a trustworthy ally. He doesn't care for ego and therefore her jabs don't wound him.

Back the dialog was still great. The best of GoT is truly among the best in tv-show history. It's crazy how good it was and how badly it fell.

I loved Diana Rigg! My first time watching this scene I thought her Dame Vanessa Redgrave. What a great actress was she! R.I.P.
