By their question it doesn't sound like they want a gaming PC, it sounds like they need a strong processor for possibly work and want to do some light gaming.

I love how now whenever I open the comments, I just look to see if someone yas mentioned the Ryzen 4070. If not then it's an old video.

He did all right. For Minecraft you really don't need good GPU, but high-performance CPU is crucial

This kinda makes sense for minecraft, since it's very CPU heavy. My rx580 still doesn't get used 100% with a ryzen 7 5700g.. so yea

I think that makes absolute sense for their question.
Those games are more cpu intensive, rather than balancing cpu and gpu, they prioritise the cpu, then upgrade the gpu later.
This is better than having to upgrade both

The Ryzen 7 5700X is a solid choice for a CPU upgrade. Good call on that.

The way I think about this is a good CPU will last you a lot longer than a decent GPU. I've went through more than twice the amount of GPU upgrades to CPU upgrades so getting a better CPU now will help in the long run compared to getting a worse CPU to get a better GPU.

It actually does make decent sense for the games he mentioned. Minecraft is very cpu heavy and fortnite(implying you use low settings) is also very cpu based.

Yea that’s an odd combo unless you are absolutely stuck with the GPU because there are better options out there well under 300 bucks on sale.

My immediate thought is that he was asking if it would be good with an RX 580.

I’m guessing he’s implying that he already has an RX 580 and is researching what cpu to pair it with.

If this is the case, get the Ryzen 7 5700x to allow more headroom for a GPU upgrade later on if you only plan on GPU only upgrade after. No plan on upgrading beyond, then just get 5600 or 3600 as mentioned.

To be fair if they play competetive fortnite, graphics are always on low and cpu utilisation really does get quite heavy in stacked endgames

Many people don’t have the ready cash, buy the better cpu get a budget gpu for current use and plan to upgrade at a later date. My advice is get an integrated cpu for starting it will play at lower settings and keep saving for that better gpu down the line.

I got a ryzen 5600x plus a Radeon rx 6600 I think it’s a pretty good combo

The guy asking the question was spot on. Only that I would choose an RX 5500 or a RX 7600 for future proofing. You really do need the R7 5700X tough.

The Ryzen 7 5700x and the Ryzen 4070 is the best combo for Fortnite and minecraft

I used to have an i3 7100 and 1070, in Minecraft on 8 chunks render distance I was getting ~70 fps and it was very laggy on the 1st 10 minutes but I upgraded to an i5 14600kf (still the same gpu) and now on max render distance I have 0 lag even at the start. If you see this comment around 20h-1d later then reply to me and I'll edit my comment to say the fps too

Ryzen 5700X is indeed a good cpu, I pair mine with a 3080.

for minecraft which is a way more cpu demanding game this combo actually makes sense for competitive gameplay on a budget but for Fortnite idk what to say

5700x with my 3060 ti has been a really nice combo. Found some great prices on both recently.
