Lesson planning. It's a way of life for so many of us in education.

A lesson plan book can be a storehouse of valuable data for planning tomorrow's lessons -- and even preparing for future years' lessons.

With one simple protocol, you can transform your lesson plan book to give you useful data at a quick glance. Plus, it barely takes any extra time.

Leave a comment below: How could you use this in your lesson planning? How could it be useful? Or if you use something like this, how do you use it? What do you do?

I really love this! As a performing arts (drama) teacher, I sometimes defer to acting standards and fall short on design, directing, and writing. This will help me at a glance. I also want to be sure my students are reflecting and critiquing more often. I'm a digital planner, thanks for the add-on tip!

Ok, that was an interesting approach! It segues very nicely into my newfound interest in info doodling, and who doesn't feel like doodling all over their planner at least once in a while... I can see the long-term benefits of a system like this, too. Easy way to reflect and self-assess about the success and failure of a lesson/activity.

Hello Matt! Love your work. I would like a copy of the lesson book but am not based in the States. Help!?
