After years of RICE, I’m always looking for ways to reverse all the damage done by the never ending cycle of sprained ankles (leading to one ankle being reconstructed in surgery) and RICE on repeats for years.

There is nothing wrong with relieving swelling and pain. Give the area support wrapping, rest and decrease mobility.Apply soothing rub with pain reliever and heat. Three days later, gently work on corrective exercises. You can also take pain and inflammation reliever internally. Can be tablets, tea, or juice. tumeric

Since applying ice to an injury has been shown to reduce pain, it is acceptable to cool an injured part for short periods soon after the injury occurs. There is no reason to apply ice more than six hours after you have injured yourself.
RICE technically still applies- just depends how soon after injury and what stage of recovery you are in.

Picking up a towel with my toes and walking backwards uphill helped to strengthen my sprained ankle. These exercises helped me get back to my walking program. But it was a few months before I could ride the bike without ankle pain.

Do the RICE thing for 5 days
And later if you become capable of walking slowly, then start during the exercises with precaution to get back the range of motion/ankle mobility

So basically just add exercises to the end of the RICE treatment for the first 5 days.

I just sprained ny ankle today. Before on my college days, I used to sprain my ankle and after that I'm passing out. Sometimes I even started having seizures after passing out.

I need to add that getting a chiropractor to put everything back in order is a must! Around here a chiropractor will fix a sprained ankle for about $30, no insurance or appointment.

braaad i’m in 5 day now. but till here i’ coming with Ice Sorry Haha, and i had ao much pain in the first day i through its bRoken, it couldn’t imagine so much pain? if you broke its much pain or the same? by the way i’m on 5th day and resting stretching and hoping to be back
