Timing Foods For Fat Loss

Показать описание
Timing foods for fat loss is a concept that is misunderstood by many. The basics of fat loss are often complicated to the point that confusion prevents progress. How does fat loss work? What happens if you eat before cardio, after cardio and does fasting some how provide a benefit that caloric restriction alone does not?

These tactics are often explained in a way which makes them sound true, but the truth has been shown time and time again through the research done in metabolic wards, where those being tested are in a controlled state.

Timing foods for fat loss may be beneficial based on your priorities but you need to put your focus on the bigger picture, let me explain.

As my personal experience the big difference between eating 4 meals vs 1 meal for for 2000 calories is satiety for fat loss.
Eating more frequently simply makes me more hungry and want to eat more.
As someone who struggled to keep weight off after weight loss through traditional calorie restriction I can say fasting for me is a game changer

I find that one meal a day works for me ( for years) because psychologically it makes it simple. I eat and have closure and it helps me to be disciplined

You're the most useful fitness channel I've ever found on YouTube. Just great advice and no gimmicks, no thirst trapping and shilling for nonsense products. Thank you.

Paul. Love you videos. I do OMAD because I have the opposite disciple problem. Once I start eating, self control falls to zero. I find it easier to just not eat until the end of the day. Not sure if other folks struggle with this but I absolutely suck at portion control. Intermittent fasting, especially OMAD helped me get results while recognize it my own limitations. Thanks for all you do good sir.

I workout on the stairmaster with an empty stomach. I try to use any stored fat and burn it first so that any hunger goes away. I eat a light meal after my workout in the evening. Have shedded 22 lbs since January of this year. Thanks for all your help and guys keep at it at the gym 💪

A very good, no nonsense channel. Common sense, science and just talking to us without talking down to us. Thank you.

Paul, this makes a lot of sense. I’ve been cutting now for 2 months. Lately my hunger has been mysterious more manageable. I’m not struggling late at night or eating over my target. Since you mention it now I’m realizing it. I eat a 200 calorie protein bar with black coffee in the morning and I’m got till 1:30.
This makes it easier for me the rest of the day.
If I eat a bigger breakfast then I consume way more earlier.
Thank you for your informative videos.

The behavior change aspect is very important, but you overlook how a 20+ hour intermittent fast each day allows your growth hormone to reach higher levels through the day which is very beneficial for both fat loss and muscle building. Additionally, the increase in catecholamines coupled with the decrease in insulin helps liberate free fatty acids to be used for fuel, when you IF.

This concept has always worked well for my body, and I discovered it on accident just by the normal process of limiting calories and not wanting to eat beyond dinner. The process was always: diet, make dinner the last calories of the day and finish by 6:30pm at the latest (just my particular preference). Maybe wait for an hour or more and relax...then do your cardio, at least 40 min a night, I'd usually skip Saturdays, then fasting from end of dinner all the way to breakfast the next day. This process has always turned me into a fat melting machine and it got to the point where just about every other day I'd wake up and see a small difference on my body or on the scale which amounted to something even more significant at the end of the week.

Like you said, I was always obsessed with putting on muscle but these days, being in my late 40s, while I want to maintain muscle I’m desiring to keep my body fat a lot lower than before.

Thank you for sharing. The thumbnail says “never eat after cardio.” I didn’t seem to get that info in the video, could you share this explanation?
Especially after hearing you consume a protein shake after your cardio in the morning. Thank you and I appreciate the content you put out.
