Semaglutide drugs have taken the weight-loss world by storm. Our community has been clamoring for my take on these medications. Are they really a weight-loss miracle or are they too good to be true?
This week, I reveal the pros and cons of drugs like Wegovy, Ozempic, and tirzepatide (sold as Mounjaro) when it comes to weight loss. I also talk about their impact on long-term health, including the digestive system, addictive behaviors, insulin and glucagon production, long-term eating habits, thyroid health, cancer concerns, and long-term weight maintenance. Plus, I discuss cost and accessibility, including for those who are actually using it to treat diabetes.
And finally, how do these drugs compare to behavioral interventions like Noom, Weight Watchers, and Bright Line Eating? We’re taking a deep dive, so let’s jump in!

I started Ozempic in October 2021 and have gone from 176 to 133. I have kept weight off and stay between 132-134 while still taking Ozempic. I will 11:26 continue taking this drug.

This is the most informative video. I will say as a CT tech we have also seen a rise in pancreatitis with these drugs.

I just started semaglutide. After a week I've lost four pounds and my hunger and appetite is zero. I find eating boring now. LOL. The side effects is diarrhea and mild nausea.

This video made me pause before resorting to semaglutide injections. I have been a food addict since age 8. It is my #1 coping mechanism. I am almost 50 now. I have tried it all, even Overeaters Anonymous. Nothing has worked. Food is ruining my life. I cannot do what I want to do in life when I am laid out on the couch after a binge. I had given up on trying to fight this addiction and asked my PCP for a referral to the specialist who could prescribe me semaglutide and help get it covered by insurance. Literally that same day, I found this video. I had never heard of BLE. But it seemed to remedy all the things about OA that didn't work for me. I went all in and am on day 4 today. I am feeling better today. I have hope again. Thank you for making this video because it will catch people like me who have given up are about to go on these injections. ❤ (Also: I am a 10 on the susceptibility scale. And i can't wait for my bunny slippers to get here! 🐰 This is a program after my own heart: no exercise as I gain automaticity.yay! I have never been SO RELAXED at the start of a new eating program.)

What people need to realise is that weight loss is a battle. A lifelong battle, that begins at the point where you achieve your weight loss goal and have to keep the weight off!

Also wanted to say I’ve had two friends try this and they haven’t had any bad side effects❤

I lost 12 lbs. in 3 weeks. I do intermittent fasting.. I eat about 11:30am then about 7 hours later 6:30pm. After that, no meal until 11:30am the next day.. NO pancakes, NO waffles, NO bacon, NO cereal, NO butter, NO rice, NO bread, NO potatoes, NO red meat, NO pork, NO chips, NO popcorn, NO cookies, NO candy, NO cakes, NO pizza, NO juice, NO soda, not even diet soda. I cut out things high in sodium—I don’t add sugar to anything. I’m drinking ONLY water. I’ve been cooking and eating thinly sliced grilled chicken.. I don’t eat fish, but if you like salmon, eat fresh wild Alaskan, not frozen or in a can, have them cut the skin off. Use a grill or frying pan with a small amount of olive oil to stir fry your food. If you’d like, add and sauté green peppers, red peppers, garlic, onions stir fry together.. Seasoning suggestion: Mrs.Dash original, black pepper NO Adobo, NO sazón, NO SALT WHATSOEVER or anything that has any sodium in it if possible. You can add garlic POWDER and onion powder, but NO garlic SALT. NO rice, NO potatoes, NO pasta. I only eat the chicken with 1 cup of vegetables like collard greens with homemade vegetable broth in it or steamed cabbage and brocoli. If I get hungry in between, I’ll eat 4-5 strawberries for a snack or an apple with the skin on it or a handful of unsalted peanuts in the shell or cashews. Basically I don’t eat junk food anymore. Walk 30 minutes a day.

I have lost and maintained 24 percent weightloss with BLE. I dealt with my food addiction head on, read and read re-read the book. Added weightlifting four days a week now. Do the work people!

I released 70 pounds with BLE in 2018, and have gained most of it back. (Stress and emotional eating caused this, a separation & my dad on his death bed). I have the foundation, but now its harder to lose the weight again. I’ve started the meds so I can get to maintenance plans and my MD agreed once I get there, we can slowly tapper and see how I do as well. I would always stall and get frustrated and regain. Now I still continue BLE, meds and therapy so I do not do this weight loss dance again!

I’ve been on Manjuro since January 2023 and so far have lost 33lbs. But you are correct that the best part is the quieting of that loop of obsession with food, especially sugar. It’s also nice that eat like a normal person and have a healthy relationship with food. I’ve been lucky so far with only constipation as a side effect.

Wonderfully informative. I recently started taking vyvanse for my adhd which is also sometimes prescribed to binge eating patients. I can attest that it has definitely changed my psyche around hunger and food thoughts. They’ve ghosted me. It’s eerie. And I can fully sympathize with people wanting a drug to do just that.

BUT!! I lost over 77 pounds with bright line eating and I’ve kept it off for over a year now without any of that. I’ve become a better person. More aware and present. Kinder, more centred. I eat such amazing healthy food and I have so much support. There’s no drug in the world that can do what BLE does.

Whether I’ll stay on the vyvanse for my adhd or not, I am not worried. The pill is not the container for my freedom from food torment. BLE is. ❤

Thank you for uploading this video, this is how I found your work 2 weeks ago. In the meanwhile I read your book, ditched sugar and flour and lost 2kg already. Amazing and easy to do. Many thanks for your work!

My personal results from 21 months of Bright Line Eating is a loss of 45% of my starting body weight, 48% of the grand total from my highest, 254 to 133. A size 22/24 to a 6. Your usage may vary. I’m bright for life though! I’m finally free from food. 🎉

I previously did BLE and lost about 100 lbs but it was so restrictive I developed BED in the year following. Food noise was worse than ever. I never could get back on the boat for more than a month. Based on labs my dr and I decided trying Mounjaro was appropriate. Im applying a lot of the principles I learned from BLE to my diet in combination with the Mounjaro. Hoping the two combined will help me find my sweet spot for a sustainable way of eating.

O wow o wow. This was an amazingly informative video & I will listen to it again. One particularly striking bit of info was that we WILL gain the wt bk when we stop the drug! I, too, had assumed I'd just keep it off after I discontinued the drug. Fascinating and candid, so thank you most kindly.
