Both Chinese and Taiwanese identities are valid and not mutually exclusive. The more critical question is whether you prefer to be governed by an authoritarian communist regime or a democratically elected government.

I find it strange that people equate being Chinese with the country of China and the authoritarian communist regime of the CCP. These are not the same. One can be Chinese and still desire a democratically elected government. The CCP is merely a governing body and does not represent the Chinese people or their culture. Chinese people who immigrate to the U.S. remain culturally Chinese, even though they have a different passport and align with a different government. This distinction is just basic critical thinking.

The CCP has been waging a disinformation campaign to confuse people, positioning itself as the de facto governing body of the "Chinese people." This is similar to the Pope wielding guns and nuclear bombs.
