north korea is blowing up it's roads to keep it's people in, not south korea out. the last defector escaped in a car, driving down the road and through the gate to the dmz area where he ran away to safety. (although he got shot several times, he survived)

One of the final steps a country takes when it is preparing for war, is close the borders, and cutoff all access points including roads, rail, air, water, sewer systems, cellular, internet, and there are others. Isolationism is the calm before the storm. South Korea sees the destruction of roads between the two Korea's, as an imminent threat. And I don't blame them one bit.
