If someone just read the title but didn't watch the video, they'd be taking away the opposite information! The worse cue being "squat into your heels" not "don't squat into your heels"
Hope people watch this all the way through because this information is GOLD. Being instructed to squat into my heels destroyed me. And worse yet, I used to teach it to so many people too.

Haven’t heard of this cue before. Your tips are super helpful; I like the ball hugging progression

O M to the G!!!!
I am a “squat in your heels” victim…..so this is also why I have never understood the difference between those and squats???? - let’s just say I have great RDL form!

Now I’m on to search for your ankle mobility video …..and I am thinking this may have something to do with the bunion on the inside of my left foot???
I hope to find videos on these topics:-)
Thank you For changing my fitness!!!

Thank you. Such great explanations. I deep squat and have been raising my heals ( I use a small wedge shaped rock) because it seems to give me much more stability and it prevents hip pains that I was getting from squats. I think I will continue to raise my heals with squats always.

Wow I used to elevate my toes to improve my squats. I've always struggled with this exercise due to poor ankle mobility on my right side. I will be trying this

I’ve heard it as well as don’t let your knees track over your toes 🤦🏻‍♀️

This is a common cue for Utkatasana (chair pose) in yoga 🤦🏼‍♀️
