I thought the point of being a fitness coach was to teach proper form and help correct mobility and flexibility issues so they don't get worse over time?

Man.... a lot had changed in the last 12 years on

I’m glad people are starting to realize how important mobility is.

His advice ignores the fact that the muscles respond best when they’re stretched under tension. Any real fitness coach would also focus on teaching proper form cues, building up to heavier weight over time as appropriate, & place an emphasis on improving flexibility & mobility.

Definitely insta-gahbage!!! 😂

Man, i'm so happy to rediscover your channel today. I got to know your channel when you started, around 2010, and I've always learned a lot from you.
At that time I was starting to train and I didn't know much.
Today I'm a coach, I went to college in physical education and I'm always looking to get deeper into science and practice to be a better teacher where I work.
Thank you so much for always being this cool guy and always bringing us truths!
Ps. I used the google tradutor, so... sorry if I talked thw wrong words or phrases.

I'll admit one of the only couple Cs I ever got was in geometry in high school, but that don't look like 90 degrees to me (what he was doing). I take "90 degrees" to mean the angle between your hamstrings and calves. He must be talking about something else cause that ain't 90.

That first scene is freaken hilarious! Did a partial squat of some huge insane amount of weight and gave a dramatic reaction to it! I am dying laughing over that!!! 🤣🤣😂

Ass to the grass activates more and different muscles. I feel it when I do it. To me, the lower I get the more I feel in my glutes during the squat. I helped a few in my gym to break their PR by forcing them to go lower and then a week later they were able to lift more. Mobility is definitely the key as it helps a lot. I do see a lot in my gym doing these ego lifts instead of going lower. I mean, some are squatting 225lb at like 1/3 but then if they'd do ass-to-grass, they'd only be able to do like 135 and that's hurting their ego...

Thank you, Scott. Exactly right. Yours are the most intelligent fitness comments I've heard all year. Working within your full (but natural and safe) range of motion is key. I despair at the people I see in the gym who practice useless and risky technique and then add more weight.
