Was at work squatted down to pick something up and realized I could flat foot it keep the content coming my guy and can we get more upper body/posture correcting stretches please

To be able to deep squat is one of my 2024 goals. I have never been able to deep squat. It is no wonder actually due to the lack of my movement overall. I have been working on that for multiple years. I would say I came a long way and have more to go, but flexibility wasn't part of that even though I wanted, but I got dispersed and overwhelmed with the many goals I set for myself. I also struggled and still do with consistency. Recently, my energy level has been very good after starting treatment for my condition which caused me to be anemic and extremly fatigued, and I'm trying to make it a turning point for myself. That's why I'll be recording my journey here until I get to do the deep squat (hopefully).

Ankle mobility is so frustrating for me. I can hold a deep squat pretty easily, but I feel like my ankles barely go past my toes. It stops me from a pistol squat on my right leg. I'll have to give this a go.

Thank you! This is actually really helpful and easy to follow. This isn't an insult to other fitness-related content creators, I'm just really dumb and can't follow them well.

Feel like the reason why I struggle with normal squats is at least in part because I've let my ankles get all stiff, so I'm going to focus on this for a while to start small in rehabilitating myself.

HOLY HELL, I HAVEN’T FELT SO GOOD IN A DECADE, WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING WITH MY LIFE?!?

Seriously, thank you, I’ve been doing the ankle stretches and some lower back stuff from your channel for the past few days and I seriously feel better than I have in a decade. My lower back and ankles have been killing me lately, I’ve been nearly incapacitated it’s been so bad, but these stretches have me singing. YouTube Shorts randomly recommended me one on lower back pain by you right when it was really bad, so I decided it couldn’t hurt more and tried the stretches. Instant relief. I searched up ankle ones by you right after and again, instant relief.

I’m slowly working on incorporating more of these stretches into my life and wow is it ever worth it. Thank you!

I think these exercises are good. Tried them for a couple of months. Ankle mobility improved greatly :)

However since my ankle mobility was bad I think it led to a little bit of damage to my meniscus. Meniscus tears often happen exactly in the positions shown here. I am in very good physical condition and have been athletic for more than 15 years. Been trying to figure out what caused the issues and now having learned more about how knee injuries happen I think these exercises might have been a little bit to blame.
Take care when doing these, if you feel pain on the inside of your knee then just stop right away..

Do you have any tips for getting your heels to drop in downward dog? I can touch the floor in forward fold but I can't get my heels to stay on the ground for downward dog.

I would strongly recommend doing a straight leg stretch as well. he explains that you should feel a stretch in your lower calf and Achilles tendon, but that upper calf below your knee is just as important, so you’ll want to stretch the entire calf and your tibialis if you want to see healthy results
