How to Adult

Sometimes we have to pick and choose which battles we face in life. For the longest time I would always do whatever my friends wanted to do because I hated to cause conflict. But then I started to realize that I was giving up my happiness to make everyone else around me happy. Once I decided to start standing up for myself I realized that a lot of my friends only wanted to be my friends because they were able to manipulate me into doing everything they wanted to do.

Good on you for drawing boundaries and keeping them. I’ve bounced several negative nellies out of my life this year, and the change is profound! Peaceful and fun. Not taking things personally and seeking my 5 positive people I surround my self with regularly has been life changing. If people are using your kindness as a way to manipulate, it’s time to move on. So many great people out there that genuinely care and are seeking good people too!

You are an old soul please beware some people might to hurt for whatever their reason. trust YOUR first GUT feeling, IT IS ALWAYS RIGHT ALSO, add to protection of self remember to DO NOT GIVEAWAY the things that others might use  (internal buzz words/feelings that make you cringe )they can be used purposely to hurt you when thing goes wrong  YOU MUT TEST FRIEND/the MAIN SQUEEZE/LOVED ONE  FIRST  test them before revealing (I'm in relationship after 10 yeara I know what how to hurt my partner with a few chosen words I consciously decided never use that weapon purposely ). Know strength what you have to offer to relationships and evaluate how others can enrich your life, have strong beliefs but be willing to sway with a right persuasive argument You are a good man and be proud of yourself!

Great video and content liked. I relate to this video. I always hated causing conflicts and had a very toxic relationship with my dad. I also don't have very good friends. Most of my so called friends like to control, backstab or use me for their own oersonal gain, . Now I have set boundaries and learned that self love is extremely important, This video helped me a lot.

This sounds like a crazy customer service call. I can not think of a hypothetical where you would drive them home early. Medical emergency ? Call an ambulance. Being pursued by dangerous criminals in the park? Call the police. They aren't enjoying the groups activity? Do something else. I presume they have smartphones. I can spend 6 hours online.

I would have probably informed them that the car is leaving at midnight and they are welcome to have a ride home then if they choose. I would communicate the same to the mom, then block her number and go enjoy my plans as scheduled. I know it is a bit harsh, but they had the opportunity to drive themselves if they had any thought that they weren't going to stay the full time.
