It's interesting how much narcissists hate to be humiliated . My ex narcissist humiliated me continuously behind my back for well over 1 year when I finally went no-contact. I'm emotionally scared for life because of it. Narcissists are the biggest hypocrites!

Public humiliation is huge! When I was in kindergarten, I said something to my narcissistic fathers work friends to the effect that he likes to sit on the couch watch tv and fart. Later when alone, he smacked my face, blew up at me novella style and was seriously angered. No regard to the joking context of a child. It was a huge disappointment and affront to him.

Yes narcs HATE to lose. Reminds me of a story Christopher Ciccone wrote in his memoir about growing up with and working with his sister Madonna. Whenever the siblings played Monopoly Madonna always had to own Park Place and Boardwalk. If any of them landed on it they could not buy it. She also got skipped on the chore list and got a Ford Mustang on her sixteen birthday. But when she hit the bigtime she immediately spun a narrative in the media that she was the doting big sister forced to take of her younger siblings. I highly recommend his book Life With My Sister Madonna. He is way kinder than he had to be and it’s a fascinating insight into how a narcissist destroys the whole family.

They hate to apologize… I was stabbed by my narcissist mother as a teenager, then I cut of contact. A few years later she reached out to say “maybe I shouldn’t have done that”… like what, yes “maybe” you shouldn’t

What’s the most disturbing to me is that narcissism? Usually the victim gets the help needed by the abuse the narcissist caused while they just pick up and move onto the next

Agree Jill.
As soon as I put up boundaries, I was dropped. I believe she moved straight on to another supply.
In response, I blocked and deleted, hard as it was.
Ignoring is the key, as is no contact (and moving on).
Thanks for an excellent video.

The narcissist hates to lose control and when he or she does not has the upper hand.

It’s heartbreaking and frustrating when the narcissist is a close member of your family, like an emotionally and verbally abusive adult child. It’s hard to go no contact.

All this describes my narcissistic mother and sister. These things they do to run away from shame. Thank you for enlightening me, Jill!

DESCRIBED my ex perfectly. Especially the "pestering." We'd have the same argument 10 times until I finally gave in, or she'd go behind my back and do it anyway.

“No” the strongest word in the English language. It’s more than a word. It’s a statement, sentence and declaration.

Narcissist hate it when you call them out on their BS or when you call out their favorite adopted narcissistic conman.

I have a funny story that relates to narcissists' hatred of authority. Years ago, I used to drive my narcissistic brother to court every once in a while so he could request an extension of time to pay his unpaid parking tickets. Every time, he'd give the judge a sob story about how he didn't have the money because he was out of work, or the economy was bad, yadda yadda.

One day, he gave that story to the judge, and the judge just had a look on his face like he's heard this B.S. story a hundred times before. He looked at my brother and put up two fingers and said, "Two weeks. You've got two weeks to pay it."

My brother was pissed! Afterwards, we went for lunch, and as he was talking about how rotten the judge was (because of course, it wasn't my brother's fault, right?), he had rage in his eyes as he squeezed so hard on his glass of water, I thought the glass was gonna break!

As for the parking tickets, he did pay them within the two weeks. So when he has to do something, he can. But it was nice to see him held accountable for once by someone who wasn't buying his bullshit.
