This is so true. I think that I am finally done with my last narcissist. I am very empathic and value authenticity above all else in the human experience. Narcissists are drawn to these qualities in me, but after they have lured me in, they criticize and belittle these qualities and distort and misrepresent them in order to abuse me. I was raised by a narcissist and have been in counseling for 30 of my 60 years atrempting to recover from it. I think that I am finally over it. Thank you for this. It is clear, focused, direct, and 100% accurate.

I have an aunt that has treated me this way since I was a child. Why would an adult do this to a child? My sister is the same way but we were children together. A whole other level of sick for an adult to do it.

Wow! Glad that I didn’t get into a relationship with a narcissist. You can see right through them. In the beginning because they tell on themselves. You can see the red flags. They always want something or someone that they could not have.
