Thank you for calling him out, Leighton. I am trying to be more gracious in my disagreements with other Christians, but it does get under my skin when Calvinists quote proof-texts by speaking loudly and slowly, as if that's going to convert anybody.

Fortunately, as in times past, the current resurgence of Calvinist doctrine, at least in the universe of the Southern Baptist Convention, will eventually fall of its own weight, because of the obvious conclusions and the ugly implications which are unavoidable, and the cognitive dissonance required to accept them. i.e.;
1.That God is responsible for and determines all the evil that men do.
2.That God has created from eternity past all souls in His own image, but the vast majority He has created for no other reason than to burn in Hell for eternity as "just" punishment for doing that which they do not possess the ability to avoid doing by God's own divine decree.

Embracing this horrific view of the one true living God of the universe which the Bible unequivocally declares IS the very personification of Love it's self, is untenable for any man not in denial of the very conscience which God gave to all mankind. Calvinists often relate, occasionally with some pride of accomplishment, their difficult struggle with grief and inner turmoil during the process of 'making 'peace' with this doctrine. John Piper claims he cried for days in anguish...It doesn't sound very much like the normal reaction of some one confronted with any "Good News".


There is no comfort or peace in the salvation Calvinism describes. Calvinism says man's salvation is not based on believing the Gospel by faith, but only on an individual having been 'picked' by God before they were even born, and for no known reason at all. Furthermore, their doctrine of "Evanescent Grace" allows for the distinct possibility that any individual Calvinist, at any particular time, may simply be experiencing a "God-induced" delusion of their own salvation. And when they acknowledge that, it actually causes many Calvinists to sleep with one eye open... which can scarcely be described as a 'state of grace', or possessing a "peace that passes all understanding".

Most will reject it of their own free will, seek and find refuge, 'in' Christ's saving grace, by faith.
Some will continue to cling to the doctrine as if it were a floating plank from a sinking ship.
Sadly, a few will sink into the abyss, believing Satan's original lie that God cannot be trusted.

Leighton, it doesn't help at all when, after explaining sometheng wonderfully, to add: "As far as I can tell." For example, you just showed the blatant contradiction in their thinking, and then you add: as far as I can tell!!
I know you try to be nice, but when you correct someone and show without any doubt that they are wrong - don't apologise for that or try to soften it somehow. "You just teach plain contradiction." Period.

Hi, Layton. I downloaded your app, and I like it a lot. I could use a few accessibility bugs fixed. I am using a screen reader to access the app and the information they’re in. Sometimes the videos don’t play even though I’m double tapping on them. So I don’t know whether your developer had screen readers in mind. Because they have the SAME VOICE and TEACH THE SAME THING.
Why didn't the Pharisees hear his voice and follow Jesus?
Because their fathers went their OWN WAY and taught them to FOLLOW TRADITIONS that are not of God and they OBEYED THEIR VOICE.

God sends wise COUNSEL to DELIVER His will to ALL MEN so that he is JUST for making us subject to vanity.
You see, we are ADDICTS because God made us that way, but He is just in doing so because He also sent each of us the intervention team to give us the diagnosis and the NAME of the PHYSICIAN that is able to HEAL us...we don't even need to make an appointment, we don't even need to leave the comfort of our own home because HE WORKS around the clock healing sinners that COME TO HIM to be healed THROUGH FAITH.
So, who does all the work?
Is it the DELIVERERS by the power of the Holy Spirit and the PHYSICIAN doing ALL the work, or is it the ADDICTS that submit and TAKE the advice of wise counsel sent by God and COME to Jesus to be healed according to HIS ability to save sinners that will die WITHOUT HIM?

Genesis 3:22
“And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:”

The wise counsel is FOOD sent for us to FREELY EAT so that we may LIVE by IT.

Regarding John 6:65 the reformer’s ASSUMPTIONS are:

1) It wasn’t given.
2) It was only given to a select few.

Q: We must ask ourselves WAS it given and to WHO was it given?

A: YES, it WAS GIVEN in John 6:32, 33, 51 and it was given to THE WORLD!

How can a Calvinist be a good mother and father? Being evil, depraved and fallen but still providing love and security to all the children. If we being evil can give what is good to our children then what does that say about our Holy Father? Wouldn't He not love and provide for all of man as we do to our own?
Secondly, how can a Calvinist man or woman be ok with knowing one of their children maybe destined to eternal damnation based off of random selection? Why raise them in a Christian household when if they're destined for salvation by election the work has already been completed in eternity past, present and future? Do you confront your children with the truth they maybe destined for hell by God? His rejection of them. Does God reject men without cause?
Thirdly, love in itself in its definition and out working is a choice. God nor man can love without a will to cause the decision to be made. So do we truly love? Can we truly love? Certainly not under a Calvinistic world view. For there is no will, no love, no inspiration and at the end of this dreary rainbow...no hope.

What I am asking for is a teaching course, for lack of better terms, that only teaches the doctrin(s) of provisionism without reference to opposing views such as Calvinism?
