Message to Leighton Flowers

A&OM refuted the list of objections Flowers posted to our being careful, and thorough, in dealing with church history and its abuse by those promoting “provisionism.”

Notice that Dr. White didn't actually address the argument (which is that Augustine imported determinism into Christianity from ancient heresies and non-Christian religions).
Instead, Dr. White argued that Dr. Flowers fails to 1/ acknowledge ways in which these non-Christian religions differ from Christianity, and 2/ differentiate between different kinds of determinism.
Everyone would be happy to grant these points. But just because Augustine didn't import other aspects of these ancient heresies, doesn't mean Augustine didn't import a deterministic understanding of Scripture from those ancient heresies.
Then, Dr. White argues that affirming God's omniscience and denying "open theism" is a form of "determinism based on mere foreknowledge". This isn't true and represents a common error. Just because God knows something in advance does not mean that God determined that thing.
Dr. White's childish, arrogant attitude seems to have made it difficult for him to fairly consider perspectives outside his own.

It always amazes me to see Flower supporters claim White is arrogant, but frankly, one only needs to look at many of the smarmy thumbnails of Flowers videos and see the arrogance and self-promotion.

Perhaps Dr. White's arguments would be more palatable if his utter disdain for Leighton Flowers was not so apparent in everything he says when Flowers comes up... Not to mention that it isn't difficult to see that White's attitude has become one of "If you don't agree with me, you're wrong." Further, he absolutely refuses to accept even the possibility that Augustine's past involvement with Gnosticism has any influence on his theology... Why is that?

Flowers has always blown me away by his grace and kindness and his ability to speak with candor as well as with cordiality, to the extent that it nearly irritates me because I would never go to such ends with the likes of White.

Here is absolute Biblical proof that God does NOT cause or determine everything; In Jeremiah 19:5 God says, “They have built the high places of Baal to burn their children in the fire as offerings to Baal—something I DID NOT COMMAND or mention, nor did it enter my mind.” 2nd Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is…not willing that ANY should perish but that ALL should come to repentance.” and yet, it also has Jesus saying, "Broad is the road that leads to destruction (hell) and many are on it, but straight and narrow is the road that leads to life (Heaven) and few ever find it." So, as a Calvinist, do you really believe that God arbitrarily creates some people for one reason; to burn for eternity in hell.

I listened to L Flowers and Romans 3 kept bothering me every time he spoke. The argument for the righteousness of God stands. God is good, we are not. He is working his good will and without him there is no good.

Limited Atonement means that Christ shed blood on the cross is the perfect sacrifice, "limited" to those who believe in Him.
