Job burnout is recognized by the World Health Organization, but there is also caregiver burnout, emotional burnout, and parental burnout that leads to #nervousexhaustion . While self-care helps you manage your stress it does not solve the structural inequalities that create the conditions that cause burnout. We need to use behavior change science to create individual, organizational and cultural change to prevent burnout.

Dr Jacqueline Kerr is a mom, behavior scientist and burnout survivor. She is in the Top 1% of Most Cited Scientists worldwide and her work has informed the US Center for Disease Control Community Prevention Guide. Dr. Kerr left her position as a public health professor in 2018. She now hosts the Podcast 'Overcoming Working Mom Burnout' where she interviews researchers, diversity experts, and leadership coaches, focusing on #mentalillness . She is on a mission to dismantle the causes of working mom burnout and #genderbias with individual, organizational and cultural change through behavior change science. Connect with Jacqueline Kerr on LinkedIn and YouTube @Dr Jacqueline Kerr. Filming and video editing credits go to NSHAPS Productions and Kamal Ismail. Food photography credits go to Tom Adams.

"If you address the causes of burnout, you remove the costly loss of talent" LOVE this quote. This TEDx talk helped me think more proactively about how I lead my team.

Employers don’t backfill positions when someone is out on leave or sick. So they decide to dump that person’s workload in the existing team members who already have a ton on their plate.

Personal development IS professional development. 100% agree. Thanks so much for so eloquently and graciously sharing your story along with the challenge to make little changes. Because, together, our individual changes to prevent burnout amongst ourselves and each other will lead to the systemic changes we need. Thank you for your leadership on this important topic!!

This is SO GOOD! A MUST WATCH! The statistics blew my mind. You got me so fired up. The future is female and the time is NOW. I'm so glad to be a part of your journey, I feel like a proud momma, watching her birdie fly :) It was a pleasure to coach you and an honor to watch you help so many other burned out moms!
