Tried it this morning. I used raw honey instead of syrup. I also added a bit cinnamon. Delicious!

Try substituting heavy whipping cream instead of maple syrup for your sweetness. It will now have dairy but it wonโ€™t have any influence on insulin levels. I love maple syrup as well and your recipe is a home run.

I just happened to have all of these ingredients on hand (except for the collagen) so I just made myself an afternoon treat. We had planned an afternoon outing for a latte at a local coffee shop, but this was perfect! I'm really trying to incorporate lots of healthy fats in my diet and this is a great way. And best of all, I loved the taste - creamy and rich. Thanks for the recipe!

Looks good and I'd love to try it, but with the conflicting information coming out about coconut oil, I'm a little leery about consuming so much of it. I drink 2-3 cups of coffee a day.

I read something scary about collagen powder that may be total bs, but it was that it may have brain tissue of cows in it, which could have mad cow disease. Again I have no idea if this is true, but apparently the process of extracting the collagen from cows can cause some brain bits to get ground up into the powder, along with other cow parts. And itโ€™s controversial whether or not it actually helps with skin and nails.

Maple syrup is a bit surprising for me - isn't it pure (unhealthy) sugar? I have insulin resistence, and - as far as I remember - maple syrup is not recommended (just like corn syrup, etc.) Opinions?

Mmmmm, I'll have to try the splash of maple syrup; we like ordinary bulletproof coffee like this too. I think it CAN be a bit of a surprise to your digestive tract, the first time or two (haven't tried adding collagen or protein powders so that probably would change transit time too). It is great when I don't really have time for a healthy breakfast!

First of all not all people drink coffee like that.. In Europe we drink real unfiltered coffee. And second of all if you want to support your adrenal glands make same shake with out coffee and add some protein and more nutritional stuff drink that on empty stomach and after you finish that make normal coffee and enjoy it as you like ๐Ÿ’
