Secrets to decluttering:
A few months back I shared a video called 53 Things to Declutter From Your Life That you Won’t Miss at all and you guys LOVED it. But, I know there is a big difference between wanting to declutter and actually doing it. So this video is here to help you take that motivation of wanting to have less clutter, and offer some actionable and attainable steps and tricks to actually make it happen. Regular decluttering of your life is something I’ve learned to be very important. Decluttering has been proven to decrease stress and anxiety in people. But, I've learned that is in every day, REAL life, you can actually just tackle small little decluttering tasks weekly, or even daily, that can take less than 5 or 10 minutes and it’s SO much more attainable!

Oh my word, Kallie, I'm an old lady of 71 and very disabled. I'm in a small apartment and having trouble finding a good caregiver to help. I learned sooo much from this video that it gives me hope that I can handle a good deal of this from my scooter. I can't walk, but I now know where I can start. Tytyty God bless. Stay safe and well!

My granny always used to say, “never leave a room empty handed”. Good tip 👍 It’s all about logistics 😊

The best advice I was ever given is.. Just because you like it doesn’t mean you have to buy it.

Great tips! One of my things is if I want to sit down and watch a movie/show, I purposely will either not record it or not fast forward through the commercials if I did record it.
The goal is to get up during commercials and do something, , , , dust a table, put away laundry, do dishes, , , , it may take a couple rounds of commercials to complete the project but I'm always amazed at what I got done by the end of the movie. 👍😊

I donated three bags of clothes this week and have a simple wardrobe left and so much space in my closet. It feels amazing! I’m getting rid of small furniture that is no longer needed as well. It’s amazing how it can change your mindset.

I love that you chose a smaller home with less stuff. We downsized and did fine raising our family in a smaller home, and were so so glad ! We’ve been able to send our kids to college debt free with those choices.

A tip for de cluttering a sentimental item is by taking a picture of it. Then you can keep the memories attached to it.

A personal trick for me when shopping is to ask myself, "How bad do I want to clean, wash, dust etc this item?"

How nice to have someone on YouTube that doesn’t live in a large home! I can relate more to you! I have a family of 4 in a 3br, 2 bath 1200 square foot split level home.

The biggest impediment to decluttering (in my home) is disposing of the clutter responsibly or in a meaningful way. For example, waiting until winter to donate those seasonal items; waiting for the electronics recycling depot to come around again for broken electronics; wanting to sell something and having to do research first to determine its value then post it online, etc. The stuff I actually plan to hang on to is WAY easier to organize.

One thing that helps me is having a dedicated decluttering box by the door that goes out to my car. It has really helped me get into the habit of always evaluating what I own, as well as keeping the clutter minimal. The best part is that my donation station is right beside the grocery store, so whenever I leave to get groceries, I check the box to see if I need to also drop something off to donate. I've used this system for 5 years and will never live without it! haha!

10:40 is the best tip of the video - stop accumulating so much sh1t!!

This can be a whole video/ discussion on it's own, bc it really comes down to adopting a minimalist lifestyle/mindset in which you are content with what you have and actively resist buying things you do not need!

You have that right! I have become a more minimalist! My parents kept everything and when they passed you wouldn’t believe how much stuff they had and all the stuff my husband and I had to go through! I don’t want our boys to go through that at all. So I’m giving things away or taking things to the Thrift stores. What a difference it is making! Thank you for this video!

I’m loving these videos! Sometimes I can get paralyzed by all there is to do and now I’m feeling motivated to declutter my life and take back my space. Thanks so much, Kallie!

When I have something that I haven't/don't use, but am keeping anyway, I say something powerful to myself: "Who do you think you are? You're keeping this <insert thing> when there is a wife/mother out there who would love this and can't afford it." It keeps me humble, grateful for that which I have, and hopeful that the woman who needs it will find it after I donated it.

Great advice on decluttering, I was so overwhelmed last week at the thought of decluttering but today I decided to start and I also started by small steps. Doing one cabinet at a time, one drawer at a time and it has been a very productive day.

I love these tips. I have been helping my aunt to declutter and clean her place because she is so overwhelmed by all the clutter. Sometimes it helps to have someone to do things like this with you so you don't get overwhelmed.
