Many kids who've been abused and abandoned will test you, over and over. Oh, you're being nice to them? Yeah, people have been nice to them before, and then dumped them, or worse. It's wonderful that this man had the insight and patience to stay with this young man and work through his totally understandable skepticism and anger. Bless them both.
