George accepting that he will most likely die before fulfilling most of his desires for Westeros is very sad. Thankfully he’s already given us so much.

Really feel for him. Honestly I hope he just enjoys his life and if he can write those books while doing it that's just a bonus.

It is amazing the amount of stories and information that reside in this man's brain. Entire histories of civilizations are pretty much fleshed out in his head. The only thing that prevents him from getting it all on paper is the speed of which he can write and his own ambition.

I'm so glad we are living in a time that we can simply hear what a legend like him has to say

Urgh when he said he wants to write the story of Harwin and Rhaenyra!!! Please give this man 150 years!

Can't believe this man's 74 years old, we need to keep him alive for another 200 years so he can give us all of westeros, without him it gets ruined... as we've seen in late GoT

I am so intrigued by the way this mans brain works - the ability to come up with these stories that capture millions of peoples attention and take them away to some made up land, that's so well thought out, depicted, and painted that you feel as if it's actually real.

Bran is the beginning and the end. It must be hard to write his chapters but the idea is quite beautiful. Bran warged the direwolf mother in the first chapter, they *WERE* meant to have them.

Sidenote... The way George talks about HotD makes me so happy. He says that he wishes he could've fleshed out fire and blood more, even turning it into a novel, but that's what the show has done in many ways. How many characters have been improved upon? Viserys, especially. I would've never thought that Viserys of all characters would be the heart and soul of season 1, but with great writing and Paddy's unbelievable performance, we actually got a much improved, more complicated version of Viserys that surpassed his counterpart in F&B. George has to be happy with that. Even if it's not him writing these characters for the show, it's gotta be great seeing characters be improved upon.

I would definitely read anything related to Old Valyria. From the formation of the Valyrian dynasty to its downfall. The capital of Valyria, the ancient dragons, the houses who ruled the empire etc. So much mystery and potential.

I honestly feel bad for Martin. It's obvious that the fame and success of ASOIAF is putting enormous pressure on him and making it more difficult for him to get writing done. I wish he knew that most of us don't mind waiting and that he owes us nothing. I just want him to write at his own pace and in a way that's not too burdensome. There are other things I can read while I wait.

Even George is like "I wish I could live to be 150 so I could write more of my stories." When he passes, we're all gonna feel like we've lost a beloved grandparent, that's left behind these legendary artifacts. Reading and experiencing his world has be one of the highlights of my young life. When he said "Well how meta do you wanna get, I mean I make all this stuff up." I lost it 😂

I gotta say for 74 this man’s got his wits locked and loaded. Spry as ever.

I cackled when he said he would have dinner with Shae for reasons he can’t talk about 😂. I can listen to GRRM interviews for hours. He’s such a fascinating and witty person ❤

How does this man receive hate? He seems genuinely in love with what he’s making. And thats all we could ever ask for. Some people really have forgotten the art of gratitude

I love how he talks about all of his characters as if he's reciting true history of people who actually lived.

"How meta do you want to get, there is no truth" - George R.R. Martin, wise words.

13:15 He say it!! Dawn, the ancestral sword of house Dayne is more "potent" than valyrian sword steel. FINALLY.
