now that you look at it, this man imagined EVERYTHING! the history, the characters and their details along with their characteristics. Littlfinger, Tywin, Tyrion, Cersei, Joffrey, Varys and etc are all his imaginations. All of them are him in one. I've read many books but nothing beats the vast and vivid reach of is creativity.

Awesome to gain some insight on how this man's brain works and how he came to write the first chapter.

1991: GRRM writes the first GoT scene with the Starks finding the Direwolves, emblematic of the Starks' heritage.

2019: D&D write Season 8 Episode 4 with Jon Snow giving Ghost away, the Starks' last Direwolf, having lost an ear fighting alongside Jon Snow's allies, being loyal to Jon for 7 seasons, without even saying goodbye.

As a writer myself I can relate. So many ideas could come right outta nowhere. It’s good to keep a notebook close by. I too have had stories start out with a single sentence. Sentences that by themselves could be a metaphor but could also mean nothing. The hard part is actually writing everything down.

It's incredible how so many of these writers think alike when it comes to the inceptions of their stories, so often it's from all from an idea of a specific line or scene and the rest springs forth from the curiosity of what follows naturally from that. The humble beginnings make it all the more incredible what sprouted forth from that "first seed."

It's insane that someone can be so in depth with life to create something as great as GOT, because of GOT I got into Lord of the Rings and Star wars and learned to appreciate the detail that come with THIS SPECIFIC SERIES. It's the detail into EVERY SINGLE THING. down to languages, map, landscapes, and environments. I've watched GOT literally 6 times over now and I still watch it like it's brand new. That's real television and original material to me. I'm obsessed

I can't believe how this man came up with such a big fictional story

This is essentially how any sort of idea develops in writing, whether it be ashow or a movie. It's one particular scene or image that you can't get out of your head and it just taunts you until you must give in and get entranced by it. Then one scene leads to another one and so forth. The writing process fascinates me.

All this work while never imagening the influence and reach it would gain one day... Only for the sole pleasure of creating his world to write about. That's what I find most fascinating and respectful about it.

It's such a shame that D & D are now shitting on this man's original masterpiece of a story

Fun fact about the map. He made ireland upside down and then put britain on top. Even the wall is exist (i mean much much more smaller scale) between england and scotland. Which there is 2 walls built in England. One in scotland (old borders) the other in new border. Maybe thats what will happen in parallel :D They built a new wall in westeros but this time North will be inside.

My favorite author ever. He’s my only hope after this final season because he has two more books.

3 days for 1 chapter that inspired him and served as inertia for a whole new world, probably a good day for him to write.

...a bad day must take 3 months for 1 chapter?
