I've been doing this for 4 years I've actually figured this out. Whatever you make you subtract 30% that covers gas repairs and taxes. Which is a similar number to what you mentioned. Very informative video thank you

Pre-written thank you cards. Attached them to every order drop off. 1 out of every 5 orders, I get an additional tip ranging between five dollars and $15 (as high as $55 a few times)

I got a string of one star ratings, within a one month period (after 2 years of dashing). Now I have started making sure I take a picture of doordash bag, along with the food, and send it to them, before I knock on their door. I make sure I tell them thank you for using Doordash along with the picture. Haven’t had a one star rating since I started putting the DD bag in the pic!

REAL Best tip. Live in a good market. You can only make $300 a day if you live in a very busy market. My market is slow to mid and the best I can do is $200 a day maybe a little more and that's working at least a12 hour shift.

Drivers should be writing off all the car expences: insurance, registration, maintenence and repairs, gas, meals while driving, medical bills when the dog bites you, etc.

I bought a 1996 VW diesel that gets 45-50mpg for $1500. I get around 750-800 miles per tank, around $60 to fill up. Highly recommend an old VW diesel if you can find one!

I'm a massage therapist, and I totally agree with you. I became an MT because I love massages. A good massage not only feels good, but it also gets the kinks out.

Just started door dashing today, did an hour and a half and made 26 bucks. Unfortunately, I have a lifted pickup truck with 35 inch tires so I don’t see anywhere near good gas mileage no matter what I do. Only doing it because i need instant cash quick, not really in it for the long haul. Thanks for the video

I've been dashing for over 6 years. People think you get paid hourly and you don't, regular maintenance on your car and keeping gas in it solves unnecessary problems. It works for me because I have a goal every week and it pays any extras my full time job doesn't pay. Tips are optional, Doordash doesn't work for everyone

This is why i love living in a collage town! Dinner rush 5p-11p is the best, but if i wanna take it easy ill go out around12a-3a because of students, and theres only a couple minutes between offers.

I just did my first day with Door Dash. A Sunday morning in small-town America. Well, I did get a couple of orders, but I'm just hoping it covers the gas. The second order was a two part operation, and it had a good pay for it. But the biggest part was a local donut shop, which was closed despite their sign stating it was during regular business hours. Part two was a fancy coffee shop in the next town (which I didn't notice at first). At least that was ready, but such a drive for some coffee.

That was a great, honest and realistic video!
With so much bs out there it's great to see someone being truthful.

Thank you for sharing. DoorDash is a side job for me but these tips are awesome.

Honestly there's a lot of jobs out there that pay $800 before taxes and then you only take home $600 after. DD isn't that bad. We don't realize how much gets taken from our regular paycheck

Honestly no matter what job you work you will always have expenses. Independent contractors are just more aware of their expenses compared to conventional workers.

So actually it makes more sense to do it with a rental car with full insurance.
